In the last 2 weeks Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent claims the K-shaped economy is “definitively over.”

The facts, real facts, don’t support that conclusion/claim at all. And I mean ZERO support!

You know me…let’s test her claim…

So let’s digest the chart with the real facts, figures, and statistics…

Out of the 7 most critical measures of the economy that affect the average American family…ah…5 of them are showing we are worse off now than at the end of the last President. One is showing “unchanged.”

And yes, one, a single indicator is showing “better”…by less than 1% improvement. Sad.

Wanna know why the unemployment rate was unchanged?

In July 2026 there are 5.1 million more people classified as “not in the labor force.” Let’s look at it in a very interesting way…official July 2026 unemployment: 4.1%, right? But, if all those additional 5.1 million people were looking for work, unemployment would be just under 7%. Whoa! Isn’t that an interesting way to look at it.

Leavitt claimed that America is now “more affordable”, really? The figures show the average American family is seeing just the opposite. That being said…a person could easily make the case that Karoline Leavitt’s statement is categorically false.

Yes, I know most people would call her statement an outright lie. And they may be 100% right. And it is their opinion and their right to say so.

For me…I remember she is only a Press Secretary…nothing more than a mouthpiece for a politician in Washington D.C..

Some might say she’s a “propagandist”. There may be some truth to that but I would use caution…

A propagandist is someone who creates or spreads propaganda, which is information intended to persuade people to support a particular idea, cause, or political agenda. They often use deliberate tactics to influence public opinion, sometimes by presenting biased or misleading information.

So let’s keep it in the realm of civility of what might be taking place:

• She drastically misspoke.
• She misstated facts.
• She was/is ignorant of actual statistics.
• She got bad information from her subordinates.
• Or, maybe it was her political bias talking. I don’t know.
• Or, maybe she was purposely trying to mislead America for some reason. I don’t know.

But the bottom line…what she said was categorically untrue based on facts. That is the saddest part of all of this.

Why?

Because it is one more reason people no longer believe anything Washington says.

Actually, no one has believed Washington for decades…rightfully so.
