Preparedness
Preparedness begins with how we think and is strengthened by what we do.
Most preparedness information focuses on supplies, equipment, and checklists. Those things have value, but they are only part of the picture. True preparedness begins with understanding risk, making sound decisions, and developing the skills, systems, and resources that help us navigate our uncertain world.
On this site, preparedness is organized into two complementary areas: Preparedness Principles and Practical Preparedness. One focuses on how we think, evaluate risk, and make decisions. The other focuses on the practical actions/steps that increase resilience, self-reliance, and everyday readiness.
Together, they provide a framework for building a more capable, adaptable, and resilient life.
