Well, yes come to think of it. I’ve written 17 articles on the economy in the last 90 days. That’s more than 1 per week.

I hope you read them all. I really did a lot of research on them before publishing to make sure I was giving out good information.

Remember back when Bill Clinton was campaigning against Bush #1? He made the statement, “It’s about the economy stupid.” Clinton was right. Interestingly enough Bill Clinton was the last President to have a balanced budget. The largest budget deficit was in FY 2021 under Trump.

That 2021 historic deficit was primarily a combination of record low tax receipts and increased spending due to COVID. Under Biden the federal deficits dropped dramatically, then rose slightly to level off by 2024 through 2025. For 2026 the federal deficit is projected to skyrocket to over $2trillion.

The national debt started a huge increase in 2008 and went ballistic in 2024. By the time you read this is will have hit $40trillion. That’s a number that can never be paid off.

But, at some point it will become a number with a catastrophic effect on the US economy.

And when that happens…the last 62 years will seem like a picnic in the park.

Back in June I wrote a 3-part series regarding “transition”, mine included. I wrote some personal stuff, but just scratched the surface about what was happening. I think it was back in 2020 < click here > I started writing about “principles vs politics” in a coherent way. And I realized that without any question…POLITICS is not the answer to our problems in the US. Not the answer to anything…period. And never will be.

Actually, politics has been the problem vs the solution all along.

Over time, especially the last 10 months or so, I really had to dig deep inside and seriously think about what I believed…what were my principles. What exactly had priority in life and why.

Once that was initially established I reconsidered the website. I knew website had to change. May, June, and July was that task. Then a few weeks back I really knew that I had to change how I wrote economic articles.

In the past I didn’t include research & sources because I wanted folks to do their own research. But then I re-thought that position. I want folks to have confidence when I write about economics. I want folks to know I am using valid and reliable facts, and statistics. And I want to show them exactly what research I am doing with what sources.

Basically I guess…I got serious after realizing what was really the underlying problem in the US…probably the world.
