Let me set the ground work for this post:

1. The folks protesting in LA are not good people…for the most part.
2. Their violence and property destruction is not the right way to go about voicing their cause and gaining support.
3. Their cause is not justified, but it is theirs, and they are passionate about it.
4. They are criminals if they are not peacefully protesting and demonstrating.

Now, a couple more items:

1. This is a local matter…the city of LA first, state of California second.
2. This is a matter for law enforcement to handle.
3. If the federal agencies who occupy that federal building want more protection, there are plenty of federal law enforcement agencies to call in for help.

So there is the foundation. Now, let’s hit the absolute DANGEROUS aspect to this.

First off…Trump was wrong to by-pass the Governor when activating the California National Guard, that is out of protocol and sets a very dangerous precedence.

Second…calling in active duty US military personnel to act as law enforcement is completely and totally inappropriate for this situation. It has all the earmarks of a man drunk with power and thinks he is all-powerful…a dictator.

Yes, Trump used the terms “insurrection” and “rebellion” to attempt justification of calling in active duty military. That allows him to weakly by-pass the legal concept of “posse comitatus”. If not in the strict legal sense, at least in the spirit of the law as our Founders intended for use of the military.

I am calling a spade a spade and I am not afraid, or blind, to call this as it actually is…a wanton corruption of power on the part of Trump. The actions of a petty dictator and totally uncalled for.

So test it…think if Biden or Obama would have called in the National Guard and active duty military to crush a Proud Boys protest, or a Jan 6^th event, or any other protest by conservatives, libertarians, or any patriot group. The right would be screaming bloody murder…they would be calling for immediate impeachment of the President…and I wouldn’t blame them a bit.

But this is worse than just this single action of Trump’s…it sets an extremely dangerous precedence. So when the next Democrat or RINO becomes President and he doesn’t like a protest or demonstration of the right…he can call in active duty military and use Trump’s current action as justification to do so.

And does anyone in their right mind think that the LA protests, demonstrations…even with the limited property destruction and minimal violence…rises to the level of insurrection or rebellion? Of course not! Well, only if a person suffers from Trump worship (TDS) or is oblivious to the Constitution and the whole foundation of Founder’s beliefs in a Republic.

This is a very dangerous escalation of the situation in LA…but worse. It goes against every principle of the Constitution and spits in the face of our Founder’s. And it begs the question…just what does Trump have in mind…and how far is he willing to go with his obsession with power?

What is the solution? Pray! Pray that Trump’s heart will be softened, that his mind will be turned to Constitutional rights, liberties, freedoms, and legal concepts. Pray that Trump will embrace the spirit of our Founding Father’s and their wisdom. Pray that those active duty military, the federalized National Guard, and law enforcement will act with extreme restraint and allow rights, liberties and freedom to rule the day.

 

 

But most of all..pray for our country…first they came for…
