If you have been following me for any amount of time you know I caution and warn against “Crazy Town!” Meaning…people going off the deep end and not just believing in crazy crap, but also acting out those beliefs. I’ve talked about those claiming to have special authority in matters of religion, or knowing special avenues to becoming a god, or being an oracle that “true believers” need to follow.
I’ve talked about the sheer craziness of some people and how easily they can sway others into also becoming…well, let’s just say sidetracked in life. And it just happened again.
On Monday a man’s wife, son, and daughter left with their uncle (wife’s brother) to take part in some kind of special “call-out” to Alaska. And the 16-year old son was now some kind of special God leader/messenger/oracle/Davidian something or another. So the wife left her husband, the daughter left her husband, and they deceived the 16-year old telling him this was a celebratory birthday trip…and all followed the uncle who was now some other special voice of God.
Okay, problems; two women leaving their husbands, deceiving the son, and most obvious problem…being told to go to Alaska! And one surefire way to know this is sheer insanity…not just being called-out to Alaska…but heading to Alaska at the beginning of winter!! So insanity wrapped in stupidity!
My point is…some very bad decisions based on an extremely poor thought process brought about by some weird mental illness(es). Fortunately, they were found and the 16-year old minor child was safe and sound.
A few years ago it turned out very differently; two whack-job preppers killed children. Oh, after already have been involved in killing others before that. And they too were caught up in this crap of being “special” to the point of having extraordinary divine spiritual knowledge. And there was a long list of creeps that defended these folks right up to the very end!
Then there are more crazies out there as well; a woman who is a virtual “prophetess” claiming visions and dreams who pretty much replace Christ himself. Oh yeah, she admitted to mental illness a few years later…and people still worship her. Or then there is the guy who fancies himself as having all this tremendous knowledge and insight in the hereafter that he has a huge following who have also made him rather rich along the way. And my favorite…about 13 years ago I was made aware of a guy, we’ll call him ‘Ken’, who had organized this special prepper group that stretched throughout most of the western US. Then it morphed into a militia group. Not long after he went underground but still very much active in craziness. And yes, he tied his movement into a version of religion as well.
Then of course there is the guy, we’ll call him ‘Sniffer’, who came up with his own brand of crazy as a “revelator” who some follow as a prophet. But he is stone-cold crazy…and rich from his followers. Unfortunately, he led thousands away from the gospel of Jesus Christ.
These are just a few of the those that have gone off their nut and fallen into a special brand of insanity. And this is what concerns me…seriously concerns me.
Granted, the world right now is absolutely crazy insane almost beyond comprehension. The economy is all but destroyed, we live in a virtual police state, politicians are drunk on authoritarianism, we have medical professionals butchering children’s genitalia, and war (and rumors of wars) spreading around the world. Almost humorously we have children who believe they are animals…and oddly, schools that accommodate that particular brand in mental illness. One look at the big city messes with homelessness, drug usage, and uncontrolled crime can easily ruin your day.
There are plenty of reasons in our world today to be stressed, seriously concerned, and even fearful in many ways. It is easy to see people’s anger blowing up almost daily; the most exaggerated of this are the shootings around the country and wonder if you or your children will be the next victims. It all sucks…I get it.
Unfortunately we are seeing it bring out the weaknesses in people. People who are weak spiritually or mentally (not knowing who/what they are) are particularly vulnerable. And that leads to folks being led astray in a wide variety of ways. I don’t want you to become one of these!
So here is what I am asking…be careful, be wary, be vigilant, stay Situationally Aware, and don’t be fooled by the crazies out there. Do not be pulled off the path, do not be convinced that crazy is normal. Do not throw you life away to nonsense of people who appear to be, or claim to be, “special”.
If someone comes to you spouting some exceptional insight or knowledge of heaven be wary. If someone says that knowledge came to them in a dream or vision…consider walking, or running, away from that conversation…and quickly. If someone comes to you and tells you they had a dream or vision of a group of people, your family included, moving to some remote location to avoid latter-day destructions…RUN AWAY from them!
No one has special or absolute authority over you…period. If you belong to a church…GREAT!! But a true church, one led by God, will not force or cajole you to do anything. They will instead urge you to follow the Spirit or the Holy Ghost to do what is right in your life. They will invite you to do what is right according to God’s word.
As I close this article I acknowledge that I have been somewhat vague and circumspect in my wording…and that is for a reason. If you know of whom and what I speak…then you get it and my warning. I want the Holy Ghost to speak quietly to you, to your heart, to your soul. I want you to hear His message meant just for you.
Last note before I go…ALL of these crazies have one thing in common…they are/were preppers. And virtually all of them had/have another thing in common…a specific website. Be very, very careful of where you spend your time as well as what you put into your mind…and into your soul. Satan has a way of mixing just enough truth and light to make swallowing poison so easy. But is is poison all the same. Please, I urge you, stay away from those things in your life that contain poison…especially spiritual poison. And know this…it can be very well hidden…until it is too late.
