From Russ…

AH Trimble Feedback and CommentsI thought ya’ll might enjoy what Russ had to say about my post yesterday “Why?”

Several great golden nuggets in his words. I suggest we all ponder what he has to say.

Thank you Russ !

Dear A. H.,
In regards to your latest missive: Why?
Two thoughts came to mind with the the question of “Why do you keep writing about the economy . . .”:
1 – I am reminded of the old Heinz ketchup ad (which you probably do recall) with the tune by Carly Simon – “Anticipation” – (Those who are aware do anticipate, perhaps at times painfully so.)
2 – An oft repeated phrase that I have increasingly seen from Ernest Hemingway, the latest of which was just this morning from another site…In his novel The Sun Also Rises, Ernest Hemingway’s character Mike Campbell is asked how he went bankrupt. “Two ways,” he says. “Gradually and then suddenly.”

For those who have prepared, they will confront the times standing on both feet, ready for the storm when it suddenly comes. For those who have not, they will be as deer in the headlights about to be run over.

Prophetic observations, from whatever source, will either be met with respect or apathy/derision. The choice is an individual one and what that individual does with it will be to their benefit or detriment.

I do appreciate your postings and all of the obviously hard work that goes into them.

Thank you from a fellow senior of 70 years.
Sincerely,
Russ
