249 years & 3 months ago hostilities, a shooting war, was started by the oppressive and tyrannical British Empire against a group of colonists that simply wanted freedom and liberty in their lives. 1 year & 3 months later those same colonists declared their reasons for wanting their freedom and liberty…the Empire ignored them…a wider war began.

On July 2^nd, 1776 the Colonial American Congress declared its independence from oppression and tyranny by approving the Declaration of Independence. When not just read, but studied, that document, the first of its kind in the history of man, is utterly amazing! It outlines clearly why man should be free, what those freedoms are, and the process by which a country’s citizens can throw off an unjust and dictatorial government.

The Declaration of Independence is near and dear to my heart…I love that document more than I can describe. Please join with me today in celebrating its formal approval. Please take the time to study it and think how much commitment those Founding Fathers had to securing true God-given rights, liberties, and freedoms to our forefathers here in America. Review how an oppressed people burdened with the rule of tyrants outlined how to correct that situation, by force of arms if necessary.
