Q & A : Hegelian Dialectic…

  • yardmaster asked, “how is this related to Emergency preparedness information for disasters and grid-down ???”

My immediate reply to him was “Situational Awareness“. I was in a bit of a rush…still working on our small orchard.

In all fairness I should have given him a better, more thoughtful reply. So here goes…

Hegelian dialectic is a method of reasoning that involves a 3-stage process: thesis, antithesis, and synthesis. It starts with an “idea”; an “agenda” qualifies as an idea. This methodology seeks to find truth through this process. It is a philosophical concept. Kinda like…out mind shapes how we see reality…the ultimate nature of reality is rooted in ideas, concepts…idealism is a major part in this. But a person sees the actual/real truth only when the “synthesis” is revealed in the end. Hegelian dialectic is a thought process.

Using this methodology a person can look at an idea, or agenda, and see reality (current events)…and come to a conclusion on what the goal is behind the idea/agenda. In the case of the post it was showing the relationship of:

  1. The elites quest for the centralization of power (to control people) through, then to, government.
  2. Then create a terrorist threat (real or imagined) to motivate people to demand action leading to safety.
  3. Then the elites create a police state to meet the demand of safety.
  4. In the process individuals lose power (rights, liberties, & freedoms) because it transfers to the government.

Now, “how is this related to Emergency preparedness information for disasters and grid-down ???”

In the post it showed how a country could end up in a “police state” situation…the ultimate “disaster”…probably a “grid-down”.

If you can’t see what is happening, how can you prepare for what is coming?

If you don’t understand how something is occurring, how can you prepare for, or fight against, what is coming?

So yes, the post was right in-line with what this website is all about. There are hundreds of posts about food storage, shelters, radios, growing food, defensive subjects, solar, water purification and storage, etc.. But, that is only part of the emergency preparedness equation.

A thought did occur to me…What did “yardmaster” think I was posting about? By the tone of the comment I have to wonder…what was he expecting…or did he just disagree with the post altogether?
