Care & Share

Last week I started working on my strawberry patch for the coming upgrade. And you know how I feel about my strawberry patch! I will be replacing my plastic black boxes that I originally used with 3 more 12’ long raised bed boxes. Yes, I will do a post or two on that process. For now, I am trimming this year’s plants and potting ‘sister’ plants into small planter cups for transplanting into the new boxes.

However, I realized that I will have at least 30 sister plants that I won’t have room for. My plan for those extras? I will share those with folks in the area that want a strawberry patch but maybe need a bit of help and can’t afford the $5 – $6 per plant at the store. They will get strong, healthy starter plants from me…for free. A small contribution giving back in a small way. Then hopefully for generations those plants and their decedents will feed folks with luscious berries!

Now, let me tell you about yesterday…

For two months I have been recovering from the leg surgery to fix some nerve damage in my left leg. The first few weeks were a little tough, but I am back to about 90% now. However, that kind of set me back doing garden work in the middle of growing season. I have also been struggling a little bit with the radiation treatments (2 more months, yuck) and lower energy levels dealing with a little bit of ‘c’. And all of that has lowered my energy levels a little…and I hate lowered energy anything.

Well, about 3pm Friday one of my neighbors called up and asked if my gate was open. I told him yup and about 10 minutes later he is pulling in with a heaping pick-up load of really nice firewood. Enough for 4 – 6 weeks of heating this winter. SWEET!!!

Why so “sweet”? Because I am already behind on my firewood cutting for this coming winter.

After we unloaded it he and his wife joined us for burgers on the grill at our place…and some serious porch time 🙂

Please think about others and their needs…care enough to know what is going on with other families. Then please be generous in how you help those in need. Right now in this country we are in serious and deep trouble. The elites are coming at us from every possible angle…it can be overwhelming at times.

People are hurting…physically, financially, mentally, and spiritually. Please, regardless of your own situation, find ways to help others…please. As you help others, they will realize they are not alone and facing this load of crap by themselves. And you will know that you are serving…helping others when they need an act of kindness and compassion.

There is no one coming to save us…to save you…or your family. But, please listen…we can help each other, we can lighten each other’s burdens, we can make this awful situation better…by helping each other. We can do this…together.

Please,
