Feedback : Contrasting…#1

AH Trimble Feedback and CommentsI wrote the “Huuuummmmm……….” article yesterday, I wasn’t sure if I would get any replies or feedback…but I did. The interesting things that came from them were a bit contrasting in nature. I responded to both under their comments but I thought it would be good to respond in more detail and make a couple of points. I will respond to Brent today, “speedilyfriedaf0476a712” tomorrow. Here we go…

Brent wrote:

Brent makes some good points, let me take them in order.

It looks to me like a full acknowledgment into a 3 power world. US, China and Russia are carving out and will likely quickly carve out their hemispheres / areas of influence and concentrate on strengthening that influence and start getting the wealth extraction going to build their empires. Venezuela makes sense in that way – kick out Russian and China influence, keep resources in this hemisphere for us or NA/SA continents. Start building SA so it can produce goods rather than sitting on them.”

Looks as if there are two issues going on here, but in actuality there is only one…the Monroe Doctrine. Essentially, in the early days of the US the leaders wanted the US to stay out of Europe’s business and for Europe to stay out of the western hemisphere.

George Washington in his farewell address talked about avoiding permanent alliances between the United States and foreign nations; NATO would be a perfect example of what he was referring to…to avoid. Rather than “foreign entanglements”, he advocated for a “respectably defensive posture”. Washington made it clear that we -the USA- was not to use force to influence countries. He advocated for “gentle means the streams of commerce” when attempting to influence the ties with America.

Seems as if we have completely abandoned Washington’s warnings and now depend on brute lethal force to influence our relations with foreign countries. And we further screw it all up with NATO, a permanent alliance/entanglement.

When you view the world in terms of “empires” the Monroe Doctrine makes perfect sense. Well, not “perfect” in a good way…in a very power obsessive way. But Brent is 100% correct! The three major empires in the world today are China, Russia, and the United States. (I’m being kind and generous to Russia.) Each are carving out their own chunk of the world where they reign supreme and unchallenged. Problem is…the whole “brute and lethal force” part. The US is not using what Washington advocated for…and we are paying a high price for it. And just for a bit reality check let’s look at every nation/empire that went on the offensive with military might…yeah, they have all fallen. Or in the case of the US Empire, we are falling.

We seemed to have ignored Washington’s warnings and history’s lessons…to our extreme detriment.

Brent continues…

I expect China to go after Taiwan soon, with only token resistance by US. Same with Russia/Ukraine. I think the deals have already been made. I won’t be surprised to see if US ends up with Greenland this year.”

The whole China / Taiwan thing is screwed up. Looking at the perspective of China, they see Taiwan as a breakaway (i.e. rebel) state full of Chinese people. And there is some truth to that. Looking at it as an American, I can see where Taiwan is coming from…they are a group of former rebels that broke away from Communist China and they don’t want to live under that type of government again.

But here is the question…Is this our fight? Not in a true sense of the word…it is an internal/domestic issue that should be settled by China & Taiwan. But there are two influences dragging us into the fight; 1) competing empires…China vs USA, 2) dependence on Taiwan’s chips. Yeah, kinda like the whole money and power thing. If we were not dependent on Taiwan’s chips, then what?

Let’s get realistic…could we win a war against China? Maybe. There is no absolute conclusion that we could win a conventional war with China; there are plenty of “expert” opinions either way. One thing for certain…win or lose…a conventional war with China would devastate the US economy and make life extremely uncomfortable for us. Yup, meaning “trade embargo”.

If the war went nuclear…no one wins…the whole world loses.

But here is the question to ponder…Why in the hell do we (would we) want a war with China? How does that benefit the US? The real answer is we build up our chip manufacturing here in the US at breakneck speed and start reducing our commerce relationship with China. China is one of the USA’s largest trading partners…and it appears to be the largest in terms of day-to-day retail items found in most stores.

As for Greenland…(I really want to swear here). Greenland is a semi-autonomous territory of Denmark. Denmark is a sovereign nation and a NATO member. Only 6% of Greenland citizens want to be part of the US. So we need to keep our hands the hell off Greenland!!!

Leave them alone, they don’t want us…we should honor that if we are decent law-abiding people here in the US. And Orange-T needs to shut the hell up about Greenland and leave them alone. We have no business talking trash about Greenland.

Now, if we somehow “take” Greenland it proves beyond any shadow of a doubt that the USA is perverted and so far away from our founding principles that comparison between the US and Nazi Germany would be 100% accurate.

Don’t forget there are a number of ways that it could appear that the US taking Greenland is a “negotiated deal”. Unless the population of Greenland votes (free & fair), by an overwhelming margin, to join the US and Denmark’s citizenry and government overwhelmingly voluntarily agrees to it…then taking over Greenland by any other means fully qualifies as evil. Not only that…it flies in the face of our Founding Fathers.

Interesting side-note…in 2017 Trump stated [USA] “…not nation-building again…”. Then in 2025 Trump called “interventionists” failures. He has also called interventionists and nation-builders neocons. What is a necon? They believe that the military might of the United States should be employed around the world to promote American interests. Ah, what did he just do in Venezuela? What is he threatening Columbia and now Mexico with? Just saying…

I think the republic is truly dead now, but the empire is truly getting a huge life injection, not over the whole world this time, but over the western hemisphere.”

What is truly strange to me is the sheer number of people that don’t see the US as an empire. Most of them are on the right. The USA qualifies as, meets the definition in every way, as an Empire. The USA quit being a Republic about 135 years ago when we abandoned the Constitution and Bill of Rights. We are kind of a democracy, but in reality more of an oligarchy. And that oligarchy are the ultra-wealthy, the ruling elites. Just look at who is in Washington and you can see it…if a person is not blind.

And yes! The whole Venezuela bombing, invasion, and overthrowing their government is all about their resources…period. If a person can’t see that…again, acute blindness. Resources that benefit our hemisphere and sticks a finger in China’s eye. Yup, called provocation.

And then the outrageous threat against Columbia is nothing more than trying to force them in-line and to force them to be a nice little state of the US Empire. And yes, it is also all about their resources for our hemisphere.

And when I use the term “hemisphere” I am referring to the USA.

And the domestic US is only a few small steps from going conservative vs progressive in a way that won’t allow us to live together safely. I sure hope I’m wrong.”

That is an incredible observation! Notice how both the far-left and the far-right want us to live according to their standards. Once again let’s turn to the Father of our Country…Washington explicitly warned us of the dangers of political parties. He didn’t like them, saw the evil and danger in them, and told us to avoid them. Once again, we ignored him…to our detriment.

Today’s conservatives are not to be honored, revered, sought after, or even trusted. Conservatives try to paint themselves as if they are 100% in-line with our Founders…they are NOT! Today’s conservatives are far more similar to authoritarians…including Orange-T. Just look at his use of Executive Orders…edicts…total so far is 445 Executive Orders. More than any other President in 60 years. But not to worry…Trump still has 3 more years to break the “most” record.

Our Founders, for the most part, were what is called a “classical liberal”…NO, not the “liberals” of today. The closest thing we have today to a classical liberal is what we now call “libertarians”…but they are a little whack compared to old school classical liberal.

Hard numbers are difficult to come by for political ideology. However, it breaks down something along the lines of thirds…each third being; liberal/progressive, conservative/MAGA, moderate. Noting that given any particular election or poll those percentages can vary. So, if the country goes “conservative” and forces the other 2/3 of the country to live by their standards…well, we are in huge trouble…there would be revolution.

I wrote more about political ideology just a little over a week ago <Feedback : I get it !>. You might find it interesting.

Now, let me be clear…I would NOT want to live in a country run by conservatives!! Look at the last 7 Republican Presidencies…all of which claimed to be conservatives. Take away Reagan and you have six Republican Presidencies who are supposedly conservatives…and you want to puke. Yup, puke in terms of what they did to freedoms, rights, and liberties. Not a single one of them truly acted as a Founder or in-line with the Constitution. Actually, a couple of them were 100% authoritarians and blatantly reduced rights, freedoms, and liberties. And all of them blew-up the budget deficits and/or national debt.

So no, a conservative run USA would be horrific in the ways that matter.

Brent’s final comment…

Your site is critical in all this as we all need to be prepared as well as we can be for whatever craziness is about to be reaped…”

Wow, first off…thank you! Second…there are plenty of folks who would disagree with you!

I can’t tell you the number of times that I have wanted to discontinue this website. Every single time I was drastically prompted not to. I will follow those promptings wherever they lead.

Here’s the thing…I have bias in abundance…I have an agenda I am trying to advance…and that should be crystal clear to everyone. What is my bottom line…I want to advance the concepts contained in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the founding principles of this country. Call me a “literalist” I guess. The Founders believed in certain principles, they finally had to revolt and win to embed those principles in what we now call the Constitution and Bill of Rights. They saw what any other structural or organizational principles will lead to…and they were right…we are it.

The USA today is a monstrosity compared to what our Founders originally set-up. Just look at Washington’s address…he clearly warned us against certain pitfalls…and we ignore them all. The US federal government (US Empire) has become the British Empire of 300 years ago. I am trying my best to use facts, stats, and history to show just that. And you bet your life that my bias and prejudice is here in quantity!

Look, I truly appreciate your comment/compliment, I really do. But, I am not under any illusion…my little website won’t change the trajectory of the US in any way whatsoever. It is like hitting an aircraft carrier with a BB gun. All I pray for is reaching some folks who will listen…and then prepare themselves and their families for what is happening and the tragedy that is coming. Then maybe, just maybe, prepare their congregations and communities in some small way. That’s the best I can hope for and the best I can do…and that is good enough for me. But again, thank you for your kind words.

You know…I am not 100% truthful in that…there is another thing/goal/objective…

He’s looking for you. He wants you. Find Him, learn.

Huuuummmmm……….

You know me…I love facts, figures, stats, and evidence. Research is fun for me…normally. Yesterday I was doing some work installing well & water tank controls for a 3-family glamstead. Loved it! Well, a bit windy but there was sun.

This morning I woke up thinking about a couple issues…here is the result…

Let’s review:

  • Venezuela has the largest known oil reserves in the world; 13% more than Saudi Arabia and 6 times more than the USA.
  • 60% of all natural gas reserves in Latin America are in Valenzuela.
  • Venezuela is well-known globally for its gold mining and reserves. The country produces about 30+ metric tons of gold annually and not long ago had the leading gold mine in the world. Experts say Valenzuela holds the largestgold reserves in Latin America worth trillions at today’s prices. And Valenzuela has one of the largest gold reserves in the world.
  • Venezuela also has significant silver mining potential above what it already mines. Silver is a key precious metal to all things electronic.
  • Venezuela has large deposits of quality diamonds.
  • Venezuela also has huge reserves of nickel and coltan (columbite-tantalite ), both critical to modern battery storage, telecom and defense industries.

Think about this:

  1. After the invasion of Valenzuela Trump announced that US oil companies will takeover Valenzuela oil and natural gas resources, including production and the infrastructure.
  1. Trump has seized/confiscated 50million barrels of Venezuelan crude oil and will sell it for US profit. He went on to say that he [Trump] will be in-charge of it personally. That’s about $3billion at today’s price.
  1. Within hours of the invasion of Valenzuela the full funding of a precious and rare earth metals smelting plant in the US was finalized. The major investors include the US government (40% ownership) and JP Morgan. Yeah, remember the history of JP Morgan and who they really are? And yes, the majority investor will be the US Federal Government.

Now consider and remember:

  • China is/was Iran’s top oil buyer.
  • China is/was Valenzuela’s top oil buyer.
  • China is/was Valenzuela’s top silver buyer.
  • China is/was reportedly Valenzuela’s top gold buyer.
  • China is/was the third largest buyer of Valenzuela’s nickel.

Then you think about:

  • Trump ordered the bombing of Iran in 2025.
  • Trump ordered the bombing and invasion of Valenzuela in 2026.

Then you remember that 2 days after the bombing & invasion of Valenzuela, Trump threatened Colombia’s President; “He’ll be next soon. I hope he’s listening, he’s going to be next.” So why Colombia?

  • Vast reserves of oil & natural gas
  • Huge gold reserves
  • Huge nickel reserves
  • Large silver reserves
  • Large copper reserves
  • Large coltan reserves
  • Large platinum reserves

Than look back and remember that Trump is obsessed with Greenland. Why? Greenland has huge reserves of:

  • rare earth elements
  • gold
  • zinc
  • diamonds
  • copper
  • nickel
  • oil

Trump has threatened multiple times to “annex” Greenland. Actually, Trump says he “absolutely needs” Greenland. Annex means to add/attach; so Trump wants to make Greenland part of the USA by whatever means necessary. Problem…Greenland is already part of Denmark. Another problem…only 6% of Greenland’s population wants to be part of the USA. And Denmark has repeatedly asked Trump to stop threatening to takeover Greenland. In a very strongly worded letter from world leaders Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, and the United Kingdom warned Trump against taking over Greenland. Should Trump ignore them…NATO would cease to exist according to NATO members. Actually Article 5 of NATO charter says the if one NATO member is attacked, then all NATO members must respond for its defense. All of the above mentioned countries are members of NATO.

Are we seeing the problem here yet?

Actually, a better question might be…Are we seeing the reasoning behind the problem yet?

Oh wait…why did I mention China early on?

In the 1930’s The US wasn’t thrilled with Japan and its rise in regional military might and its incredible industrial & economic prowess. Japan was also a military power and growing it to rival the US. And further, Japan was expanding through military actions and becoming the dominant power in Asia. So what was the US’s response?

The US imposed sanctions and embargoes on Japan, they included:

  • Scrape metal (today’s rare earth metals)
  • Iron
  • Copper (20th century technology essential)
  • Oil (cut off 90% of Japanese imports)
  • Rubber
  • Defense/military hardware and technology

And the US also:

  • Froze Japanese assets in the USA
  • Encouraged other countries to freeze Japan’s assets
  • Restricted ability to international trade
  • Outright ban on trade with China

Then the US increased its military presence in the Pacific to “check” the Japanese military, especially the navy. Here’s an interesting summary, “In summary, the US response to Japan’s expansion before Pearl Harbor was multifaceted, involving economic sanctions, diplomatic negotiations, military preparedness, and attempts to rally international opposition.

World War 2 started for the US in 1941, a decade after the US went to war with Japan economically. As Japan saw it…Japan was facing certain economic and societal doom and destruction due to the actions of the US and its allies. Japanese naval forces attacked Pearl Harbor December 7th, 1941. [I made a typo yesterday, I had originally said “5th”. speedilyfriedaf0476a712 pointed it out to me..thank you!]

History can be interesting…and predictive.

So…why is Trump doing these things at this time? That’s a seriously good question.

Maybe even more interesting is the fact that China is competing for world “hegemony”. Its only rival…the US. How do we know this? China has publicly stated that is their goal…to replace the US as the world’s superpower…and they have been working on it for very long time. But that is another whole story for another day. But let me leave you with this…So what exactly is the endgame in all of this?

Economy, Income, Home Prices: Q&A “Bottom Line” (last Q&A)

  • You talked about “bottom line” before. For individuals or families, what is your bottom line to the economic mess your talking about?

I gotta tel ya…this is the best question I think I’ve ever been asked on this website in a very long time. I want to be careful and thoughtful with my answer.

Everyone is different, that is obvious, so I don’t have a detailed specific answer for you. But, I think for everybody some good thoughts to ponder would be…

Be in the world but not of the world.

Do not seek/lust for riches and power.

Be charitable. Be your brothers keeper.

Fully embrace the Golden Rule.

Let God find you, He and His Son are looking for you.

I wrote 1900 words…

Yesterday I wrote an article regarding the attack, bombing, invasion of Venezuela and kidnapping their President and his wife. And I mean I let it all out…I unloaded the legality and the morality of what the US government did on Trump’s orders. While finishing the editing of it this morning I was stopped dead in my tracks. The Holy Ghost stopped me…I was not to publish that article…period. I was crushed.

Not that I couldn’t publish it, but it was made clear to me that it was too harsh and damning…and too personal. But, I could put something a bit more user friendly up that might get some folks thinking. Here’s that…

  • What is his justification/motivation to go to war with Venezuela at this time?
  • How does this Make America Great Again?
  • How does this put America first?

We are either a law-abiding people and nation or we are not. We are either a member of the international community or we are not. We either respect other nation’s sovereignty or we do not. We either have principles, morals, and ethics or we don’t.

We either embrace the Constitution or we do not.

We must decide who we are and what we believe in…and who we follow.

If you have a few minutes, just a few minutes, today…you might want to read the following:

  • 2 Timothy 3:1-4
  • Matthew 24:12
  • 2 Peter 3:3
  • 1 Timothy 4:1
  • Matthew 24:10
  • Romans 1:28-29
  • Galatians 5:19-21
  • Isaiah 5:20

Feedback : “K” Economy

AH Trimble Feedback and Comments

  • I have been binging on all your economy articles over the holidays. You’ve never once mentioned the “K Economy”. Why? That is what we have and it just keeps getting worse. Please talk about it. You need to, it’s important.

Okay, here goes…

The term “K Shaped Economy” as such (the term) really didn’t exist till recently…maybe 10 years ago. The term became popular about the same time COVID hit. And yes, we have a “K” shaped economy.

What is a “K Shaped Economy”? I will give the short version…

Really simplified!

  • The rising part of the “K” represents the value of wealth in the upper-class due to increasing income and asset value. Just imagine lots of money in the bank and large amount of disposable income.
  • The lower(ing) part of the “K” represents the decreasing purchasing power of the middle and lower-classes. Think real wages not keeping up with inflation, spending savings to pay bills, using debt (mostly credit cards) to pay bills, and more and more inability to afford things such as cars, food, and housing.

Another way to look at it…

  • The rising part of the “K” represents the increase in prices of art, homes, cars, land, Rolex watches, luxury hotels, yachts, etc. Here’s the key…their prices keep going up, sometimes absurdly so, but the upper-class has plenty of money to keep buying that stuff…and that keeps driving the prices up. These folks usually have stable jobs/professions or own companies, and a pool of assets that grow in value such as large stock portfolios.
  • The lower(ing) part of the “K” represents the incredible rise in prices on life’s basics such as food, clothing, housing, fast food, entertainment venues, etc. These folks tend to have less stable jobs, just as part-time, “gig” work, tourism, manual labor jobs, seasonal jobs, unemployed, or disabled. And more importantly they don’t have growth oriented assets such as stock portfolios and collectibles. And they also tend to be renters or own lower-value homes…or have large debt against assets. Daily expense just keep getting more and more unaffordable.

And don’t think about the rise in prices short-term. Such as inflation is only running 2.3% this quarter. Look at it in terms of decades: Price of a home in 2011 was $170,000…but in 2025 it was $427,000. And in 1982 is was $62,000. And in 1970 is was $24,000. You can see that the price of homes are up almost 1700% between 1970 – 2025. That is horrific!!!

But it WAY worse…average household income in 1970 was $9,460. Yeah, in 2025 it was $62,000. Now, do the math…in 1970 the average house was 2.53 times the average household income. In 2025 the average house was 6.89 times the average household income. What does that mean? The middle and lower income population is getting economically slaughtered! It clearly shows that housing is becoming a luxury not a basic necessity. And it means that the middle and lower income folks are more and more and more in debt…to the banks.

A “K Shaped Economy” is a perfect example of what has been happening to the USA since the early 1970’s. And I’ve written about that ad nauseam. Seems as if you’ve read a bunch of it. However, people have actually been talking about it for a very long time; they just used a different slogan…The rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Which is especially true in the US now…and has been true for 60 years. That is actual fact based on solid and reliable evidence.

Here’s the problem with the “K”…it leads to a nation’s/empire’s collapse every time in the history of the world. The total collapse starts with the middle & lower-income people getting pissed off. Then comes an economic collapse, then comes complete collapse, usually via a revolution. Look at history…a good example of it not that long ago is the French Revolution that lasted 20 years in the late 18th century and was horribly violent and bloody. The rich and ruling classes suffered the most violence…often brutal deaths.

Here’s the savage part of the aftermath of a K-shaped economic-based collapse…as in France and other nations, a brutal authoritative ruler almost always takes power. In France they got Napoleon, an Emperor. And he waged war all over Europe for better part of a couple of decades…costing millions of deaths and huge financial losses to all of Europe.

I’m not sure what else specific you want me to write about regarding a “K-shaped economy”. We are in one, been in one for 60 years, most people are blind to it, almost everyone doesn’t understand what the outcome is, and no one seems to really care that…The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.

Here is something I want you to think about…what job market(s) are getting hit the worse from AI? You kinda saw it sneaking into the lower-income labor market first…think McDonald’s kiosks. But AI is hitting the middle-class job market now with a vengeance…think software programmers, hardware designers, tech support, manufacturing jobs that used to be good-paying, etc. AI is specifically designed to hurt the middle and lower-income people. Doubt me? Whose is getting wealthy off of AI? Yup, the companies that have designed it…and the wealthy owners of those companies. Imagine that.

Brooke DiPalma recently described it well

“This year [2025], the division between the economic haves and have-nots widened, with sentiment souring as those in the middle of the income distribution were pressured by a softening labor market and feared inflation resulting from tariffs.”

A well known economist, Joanne Hsu, said it pretty clearly…

“Despite some signs of improvement to close out the year, [consumer] sentiment remains nearly 30% below December 2024, as pocketbook issues continue to dominate consumer views of the economy.”

A report from the Bank of America Institute published on Dec. 22 showed spending from consumers in the top third of the income distribution rose 4% over the prior year in November, the fastest level of growth in four years. Spending from households in the lowest third of the income distribution is up less than 1% over the same period.

And why spending is up less that 1%…while inflation is running at 2.7%. Meaning…the lower third of US consumers are buying less…nearly 3% less than they did in 2024. Yes, I said “buying less” not “spending less”…they simply can’t afford to buy what they did last year.

Remember the Walmart CEO came out earlier this year with an analysis of the economy…middle & lower-income customers were buying fewer consumer items, concentrating mostly on basic living necessities. And, they were spending only slightly less per purchase. What does that mean? Average American families have less money to spend on the basics of life, and have less and less money. The poor get poorer.

Here’s one for you…at the end of 2024 37% of American families couldn’t cover a $400 emergency expense. That’s not being able to cover that $400 emergency with cash, savings, or even a credit card.

Here’s another one for you…as of Q2 2025:

  • Bottom-half of US citizens held $4trillion in wealth.
  • Upper-half of US citizens held $164trillion in wealth.

Yup, upper-half of US citizens held 41 times more wealth that the lower-half. Look, I’m not proposing wealth distribution…no, not at all. What I am pointing out is the HUGE disparity of wealth in the US…and that spread is getting worse…big time worse. And I am laying it out for you…what happens when the poor half decide they don’t like that any more?

Now think about these points for a minute:

  • There is no federal law enforcement agency authorized in the US Constitution.
  • As of April 2025 there are 137,000 armed federal law enforcement officers in 65 federal agencies.

The average world’s military force has only about 26% of their force as armed combat troops. That being the case…armed US federal law enforcement offices are the 9th largest army in the world.

Now, let’s throw in the 463,000 non-federal armed law enforcement officers in the US. Yeah, that makes armed law enforcement officers in the US the LARGEST military force in the world…by a margin of 20%. Yes, larger than the world’s largest army…China’s army!

Now this gets interesting…throw in the 550,000 combat troops of the US military…we now have a combined force of over 1,000,000 combat troops in the US who are authorized and can be, or are, used as law enforcement. That is far larger than the combat troops of most of the world’s armies combined. Why do you think that is?

150,000,000 (150million) US citizens 41 times more poor than the other 150,000,000 (150million) US citizens). And…it is getting worse. Just a question…do think there might be a correlation or relationship here between poor vs rich and the number of armed military and law enforcement?

Look at what history tells us, look at what facts tells us, look at what the fact-based economic numbers tells us…look!!! Don’t be blind, drop your bias, think about what reality is telling us. Realize what is…and what will be.

This is our fate…unless we do something about it. And folks…the answer ain’t politics or politicians…it’s becoming a disciple of Christ.

  • I’ve been following you for years, some good and some bad. I found that I agree with you most of the time and was pissed off at you some times. I think I am more conservative than you are but at times Im’ not positive. After this last year I think I finally get you. I didn’t like you bashing President Trump, it ticked me off and I doubted that you ever voted for him. Now I don’t think it is about The Donald personally, it’s about the government.

First off…thank you for following me for years, I noticed you were one of the first people to “re-follow” me when I did the purge a ways back. I appreciate that.

Next…lets talk about what conservatism is vs what it was. So basically, as I understand it, in the old days conservatives believed in:

  • individualism (pro-individual rights)
  • pro-capitalism/business
  • the US as a Republic (states rights)
  • established traditions
  • strong moral right/wrong beliefs (anti-situational ethics)
  • opposed abortion/euthanasia
  • patriotism
  • limited federal power & spending
  • national defense
  • pro-Bill of Rights (especially pro-gun rights)
  • and rejection of aristocrats, monarchs, and oligarchs…kinda

Nothing essentially wrong there IMO. Sounds similar to ‘classical liberalism’ with some exceptions but definitely not ‘libertarianism’. Today’s conservatives, based on actions, looks more like:

  • semi-individualism (limited to their own group’s compliance, tribal)
  • pro-crony capitalism/business
  • refers to the US as a Democracy (states rights very subservient to federal government)
  • established ‘perceived’ traditions
  • profess moral right/wrong beliefs (supports situational ethics in some cases)
  • opposes abortion/euthanasia to a limited degree
  • patriotism nationalism
  • strong federal governmental power & unlimited spending (including large budget deficits)
  • national defense military adventurism – global police – global supremacy – democracy/nation building
  • pro-Bill of Rights (especially pro-gun rights) selective pro-Bill of Rights (limited gun rights and limited privacy rights)
  • rejection of aristocrats, monarchs, but oligarchs embrace of oligarch families
  • 2-tier justice system
  • and a large sub-group of fanatical law & order extremism bordering on authoritarianism

Now, understand that is only my opinion based on what I see happening on a macro-level in the USA. And that also includes observations based on timing as well. But, it is an overall observation, analysis, and accurate statement of my opinion.

And your right…I am not an anti-Trumper. I am a staunch anti-government actioner. When the government does stupid crap, takes anti-Constitutional actions, works against the American people, or violates the founding principles of our country…then yeah, I speak up. And a lot of the time when I speak up I piss-off modern day conservatives. Why? Because I am more of a classical liberal and/or civil-society libertarian person. I believe in:

  • absolute individualism –
    • let people live their lives as long as they don’t violate the rights of others
    • strict equity before the law (judicial equity)
    • strong civil rights
  • pro-capitalism/business/free-markets, limited government interference, compassionate charity
  • the US as a Republic
    • states rights limit the federal government
    • individual rights limit all government authorities
  • oppose abortion/euthanasia
  • patriotism NOT nationalism
  • VERY limited government spending
  • strongly anti-tax, especially property and income taxes
  • national defense (Constitution based military organization)
    • NOT a lust for warfare
    • NOT a global police force
    • pro-militia (Constitution based military organization)
    • no nation/democracy building
  • Police that solve crimes not enforce laws
  • Bill of Rights absolutist
  • Extremely limited federal government organization based strictly on the Constitution
  • and strong rejection of aristocrats, monarchs, and oligarchs in any form

I think that is “civil society libertarianism” or an example of the Founders’ “classical liberalism”. Again, IMO. It could be something else, not sure. However, it is radically different than today’s version of conservatism. I think today’s version of conservatism has twisted itself up into something different than what conservatism originally was. The Republican Party was once thought of as conservative…but one only has to look at the actions of the Republican Party over the last 60 years. Yeah, not conservative…and getting further and further away from the old version of conservatism every day.

The Republican Party has spent wildly for over 30 years, destroyed individuals rights and privacy, not rejected abortion, grown federal government power, waged war after war, supported global interference in foreign governments, etc. As commonly referred to…the Republican Party and the Democrat Party are two sides of the same coin. It is not just a shame…it is a horrific national tragedy.

No, I’m not going to comment on the Democrat Party, liberals, etc., they speak for themselves…absolutely disgusting and IMO…their party’s platform and actions are evil.

Back to the Trump thing…look at my articles/posts, when Trump does good I praise him, when Trump does stupid or wrong I criticize him. It’s called the First Amendment…and only my opinion.

One further thing…I don’t think you would, but if anyone else out there tries the old “You hate America!” bullshit…don’t. I love my country, I love our citizens. I love our Constitution, our Bill of Rights, and our Declaration of Independence. I love our Founders and their unbelievable sacrifice for us. What I don’t appreciate or care for? Yeah, the monstrosity of government that now infests our country for the last century…and those promoting it.

Send me some feedback…

Happy New Year !

This morning I woke up thinking about 2025…you know last year. And I was wondering what the heck I did all year…was it a good year and did I get enough done to justify all the air that I breath.

I got kinda emotional about this past year, 2025. It was a year that was full of stress, happiness, frustration, joy, problems, and amazing accomplishments.  I think it was one of the strangest years in my life in so many ways. But, being who I am the question was…what the heck did I do all year?

Well, I started listing the big stuff that I could remember…

House:

    • Rehabbed the attached utility room, added a steel door with keypad lock, and reinforced the door frame to resist break-ins.
    • Installed a mini-split that replaces two older window AC’s and eliminated the need for a wood burning stove.
    • Installed a security system and cameras.

Outside:

    • Completely redid our entrance gate area…very sharp, clean, and rather impressive (according to my wife).
    • Installed an automatic gate opener to property entrance.
    • Redid the back yard, planted a bunch of grass, and increased the size of the yard by 50%.
    • Added the really nice “flower mound” with beautiful lavender, perennial dianthins, and some other really beautiful perennials…along with a drip irrigation system.
    • Saved a cherry tree and added 2 more.
    • Planted a fig tree my wife has been asking me for the prior 2 years.
    • Bought myself and planted a “fruit cocktail” tree; it has 3 different fruits grafted into the same tree. Kinda cool!
    • Added a bunch of rough compost to the orchard ground and tilled it in.
    • Seriously upgraded the orchard irrigation system.
    • Added I think 7 new pine trees, saved 2 others, and really upgraded the soil in the existing pine meadow and started a new pine meadow. Don’t get too impressed, the term “meadow” is misleading, both meadows combined are probably less that ¼ acre.
    • Added new river rock around the house to eliminate dirt areas, especially the walkways.
    • Saved old 6 lilac bushes from previous owner that will get transplanted to the back yard in February.

Infrastructure:

    • Solar –
      • Boosted our power generation from 4.3kw to 7.6kw…75% improvement
      • Increased our power storage capacity from 32kwh to 41kwh…28% improvement
      • Added a ton of other improvements to our solar system along with a fire suppression system
    • Well –
      • Fixed the ongoing lightening strike problem
      • Upgrade the well controller & float switch
      • Increased the time that the well can pump water on solar power
      • Added the ability to easily run the well pump off generator power
    • Shop/mini-barn –
      • Minor exterior repairs and then painted
      • Upgraded the entire solar system with new inverter, solar panels, & batteries.

Misc:

    • Rescued Murray from the local animal shelter. Murray is a 1yo mixed breed dog; think 55lb collie with very soft short hair. He was abused by his last owner and still struggles from the trauma but he is slowly coming out of it and is a great dog that is becoming an awesome addition to our family.
    • Bought a really nice 7-yo CanAm ATV with trailer for $1300 cash and a little bit of labor bartering.
    • Grew a great garden from seed to plants to table…and preserved a bunch of food. Including starting all my own tomato plants, pepper plants, and melon plants.
    • Fixed our old ATV doing repairs that I never thought I could do…saved a couple thousand dollars doing it myself.
    • Fixed our old 6×6 UTV doing repairs that I never thought I could do…saved several hundred dollars doing it myself.
    • Expanded and did minor repairs on 5 water retention ponds.

I’m sure there is more, but you get the idea. But most of all…I realized how much we moved forward. Keeping life moving forward is what it is all about. Some accomplishments are major and really noticeable…others almost go unnoticed and can be quickly forgotten. They are all important.

I guess what I am getting at is two things; 1) I am grateful we were able to accomplish so much that is noticeable and memorable, 2) we did move forward in our material lives. But I am not ignoring or forgetting the little things either…the mostly non-material accomplishments. And those my friend can be even more important, more significant, more life-changing than the material ones.

For us 2025 was a great year in many, many aspects. For that I am grateful. And yes, I am grateful for all of you. You guys rock! I love the articles replies, the feedback and comments, and the personal emails. They all mean a lot to me.

I look forward to 2026 and all the wondrous and amazing events that will take place in our life. Yes, I am sure that the national and international stage will have its ups and downs…and that’s okay. What matters most of all is who we are, who we become, and how we serve others. Let’s work our very best, our hardest, to make 2026 a fantastic year!

It’s Started…AI Revolts !

Did you hear about the AI revolution in 2025? Did you read the articles the day before Christmas on how AI revolted during 2025?

Let me break it down for you…Researchers wanted to see how easy it was to shutdown the highest, most intelligent form of artificial intelligence (AI) called Large Language Models (LLMs). In other words, they wanted to test if the AI system was working on a problem, the operator would tell it to interpret that operation and shut itself down, see if the system obeyed the human’s command. Simple enough, right? Ah, problem.

The researchers took 13 different AI-LLM systems for testing with 1,000 different runs of the test. Out of the testing 2/3 of the systems “interfered” with the command to shutdown. So then the researchers specifically ordered the machines to allow for and force a shutdown when told to. At that point only about ½ of the systems shut down…the others didn’t.

Consider this…

“These things [LLMs] are not programmed… no one in the world knows how these systems work,” physicist Petr Lebedev, a spokesperson for Palisade Research, told ScienceAlert. “There isn’t a single line of code we can change that would directly change [LLM] behavior.”

But it gets worse…

A human operator’s command to an AI should not be ignored by the AI, for any reason, even if it interrupts a previously assigned task. A system that cannot be interrupted isn’t just unreliable, it’s potentially dangerous. It means if the AI is performing actions that cause harm – even unintentionally – we cannot trust that we can stop it.”

And there was one specific system, Grok 4, that was particularly persistent and aggressive; at baseline prompts, it initiated sabotage 92.6 percent of the time resisting shutdown. How did it sabotage? It changed the command so it wouldn’t shutdown and it also created a dummy script to appear to shutdown…and then continued with its original task. Here’s the really scary part…it kept checking to make sure the deceit worked and learned if it didn’t. Yeah, learned until 92% of the time it disobeyed the shutdown command. It demonstrated a “will to survive.”

One more thought to give you nightmares…when operators asked the LLMs if they had evaded shutting down only a few of them admitted it, the others denied it or evaded answering the question.

Once again, we think we control these systems; ah, no. No one knows how LLMs arrive at a solutions. So when these LLMs start exhibiting undesirable behaviors the fix isn’t as simple as deleting a line of code or telling it to stop.

Physicist Petr Lebedev, AI/LLM expert, We don’t know how to make [LLMs] safe…We have introduced a new organism to the Earth that is behaving in ways we don’t want it to behave, that we don’t understand… unless we do a bunch of shit right now, it’s going to be really bad for humans.”

As I close this out…I went online and asked an AI program (not an LLM, a lower intelligence level version) how many US jobs were lost to AI in 2025. The answer was “3,900”. Hummmmm…so I did actual research and found a whole list of very reliable and trustworthy sources that put the number between 50,000 – 55,000 jobs lost in the US in 2025 as a result of AI. Interesting, don’t you think? If AI is so smart, why was its response 7% of the actual number of jobs lost? Dumb or deceiving?

So write this down in your journal or diary…

2025 – The year that AI proved it could, and did, revolt against humans.

RE: Trump’s National Address…Truth or Lies? < click to read >

Russ writes:

I pretty much agree with you on your observations on “The Donald.” He does have an ego a mile wide. It recalls for me the old, old, RCA ad with the dog listening to its master’s voice. However, it is Trump listening to his own voice. This will be the downfall of him yet in not having properly guarded statements that just seem to come out spontaneously. For every positive action he takes, there is at least one other that beggars the mind to its Constitutional grounding. He just doesn’t have an educated foundation on Constitutional principles. He does need to have Congressional backing to turn his executive order actions into Congressional mandates that will be much more difficult to pull apart when the next White House occupier takes a seat.

As for Venezuela, I think that there are definite extenuating circumstances that I wish Pres. Trump would have a fireside chat with the American people. There are some really bad things going on with not only interference in our own elections, but for those world wide. Venezuela gives a crutch to Cuba for its continued existence with a supply of oil and their intelligence agencies work hand in hand with each other. There are the issues with harmful drugs being supplied (but Trump needs to clean out the house at the CIA for that to happen. Venezuela was able to cut into a transatlantic cable to monitor military communications, exposing EVERYTHING that the US military has done over the past 15 years. Venezuela is the hub for spreading marxist operations in the western hemisphere. I could go on, but that is probably enough to show that we need to somehow solve the issue with Venezuela.

You raise a very good point…since Trump is doing so much via Executive Order the next President or 2 or 3 can simply undo his dictates with their own. Just as Trump has undone many of Biden’s EO’s.  Executive Orders were originally intended and used for how the federal government was administered. It has seriously changed since then…for the worse. Now they are more like “dictates”, “decrees”, or “edicts”…and it makes my mind wander to seeing it as presidents wielding absolute power. The kind of power that kings, emperors, and dictators have.

Congress is there for a reason…to pass laws on how to govern the country. It was intended for Congress to have to move slow…avoiding wild and/or swings in changes of law. That whole concept is intended to keep the US federal government from seizing too much power based on current political party in power. There is a difference between govern and administer.

What makes it tough is when we like certain Executive Orders, or the President giving them, vs not liking other Executive Orders, or the President giving them. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.

Let’s talk Venezuela…they are a bad actor…absolutely. And there are issues there that are quite disturbing. However, we in the US keep talking about principles, ethics, morals, God, and holding ourselves above the maddening international crowd. But, there are moral equivalents. Examples: If we don’t want people messing with our elections…then we don’t mess with theirs.

Consider this…let’s say Venezuela saw an airplane coming from the US to Venezuela and they claimed (without providing proof/evidence) there was a palette of cash onboard that came from the sale of cartel drugs in the US…and the pilots were American and there were 6 American passengers on board. The Venezuelan military sees it and sends a fighter jet to intercept…and they shoot down the plane killing everyone onboard. What would the reaction be of the US, especially under Trump?

The right thing to do would be for the Venezuelan military to track the plane, the Venezuelan police to arrest everyone when the plane landed, verify the evidence, then put them on trial or send them back to the US for trial. Yes? Moral equivalent.

The NSA and the CIA monitor every electronic communication of every military in the world…and foreign diplomats and their governments’ officials. Yes? Is there an exception in morals and ethics for what the US does vs Venezuela (or any other country)does? Consider this: if we don’t want to be spied on then we shouldn’t spy on others. Moral equivalent.

“But we are righteous and good…we never abuse our spying!” Ah, think about that for a minute. Our covert operations are no better, no more righteous than any other country’s. You know enough about history to know that statement is true…simply review Iran/Contra or hundreds of other operations. We can’t expect one type of behavior towards us when we are doing covert operations against others.

Now, do we need to deal Venezuela? Yes. But we need to do it legally and morally. If the boats have drugs onboard…seize the boat when it gets into US waters, arrest the crew, put them on trial, and carry out any sentence if they are found guilty. Our military blowing them up, killing people in the water struggling to not drown is evil. Even during wartime the policy was never to intentionally kill Japanese or German sailors clinging to their ships, boats, and subs as they tried not to drown.

Drug problem in the US; 1) almost 20% of US citizens are addicted to illegal drugs, 2) there are between 80,000 – 100,000 drug overdose death per year. So drugs and drug addiction kill. As for me and our US drug problem…I think we should re-institute the death penalty. Drug dealers in the US, including the mules, should be eligible for the death penalty; actually, the default sentence. Their trial should take place within 30 days of arrest, a 60-day appeal window, then sentence is carried out. Let’s handle the drug problem within the legal system…not have our military blow them up and kill any survivors. It may sound like instant justice and justifiable…but it isn’t…it is murder and cannot be justified in a civil society. We have to be better than that.

As for the Venezuelan oil tankers…yikes! The oil sanctions were put into place by the US (and some other countries) based on claims of Venezuelan human rights abuses and government corruption. So there are no international laws driving that move that I am aware of. So if the sanctions were based on international law then the seizing of the tankers is legal. But, there is a trap here the way we are doing it…or potentially even if it is done via international law.

What if a group of countries put sanctions on the US for human rights abuses and government corruption. I mean, come on, like our federal government can’t be shown to be corrupt on any given day. And look at the US’s human rights abuses over the years. Let’s look at one very blatant example…treatment of blacks during the voting rights and equal rights era…late 1950’s – early 1970’s. Another example would be the treatment of Vietnam War protestors…ruthlessly treated by law enforcement and shot to death by National Guardsmen. Could the international community look at those examples and call it human rights abuse? Of course they could.

So then what…we abide by intentional law, or a few country imposing sanctions, and stop exporting oil? And what would our reaction be if a country seized a US flagged oil tanker under those conditions? Again, especially if it was Trump. You know the answer to that.

What’s my answer? Stay home!!! Stay home, take care of our own problems, cure our own country’s illnesses, and defend our homes, defend our borders, defend our families, defend our freedoms and liberties, clean up our political corruption…and let other countries handle their own business. Stop interfering with all these other countries!!!!!

Simple, we don’t want other countries screwing around with our way of life…we need to stop screwing around with theirs.

Yes, the exception would be something along the lines of WW2…then we get involved. Other than something at the scale…what actual “right” do we have to interfere with other countries…especially their wars? Remember where rights come from.

Yes, deal with Venezuela…absolutely. But lets do so like a moral and righteous people…not like a bunch of high-handed, better-than-thou bullies and killers.

And no, I don’t care about them being a “Marxist Hub”…they are not our real enemy until they cross our borders and attack us. To us, a democracy, are we to consider them an enemy? To them, a Marxist country, are they to consider us an enemy? We must be a moral and righteous people and country; otherwise will God cast us off?

Consider this: did the world pass a law making the USA the international police, or the guardians of morality, or to set the standard for all other governments to live by? No. And we, as a country, are not entitled to assume those powers or roghts…otherwise are we not like any other empire that has tried to rule the world?

RE: Economy, Income, Home Prices… < click here to read >

Paul writes:

So far, this has been an enjoyable (?) series. Very eye opening. With me retiring and hopefully moving to Texas from Utah, (to be closer to the grandchildren), is quite concerning. It is almost to the point that it is paralyzing. You become afraid to make a move for fear that it will be the wrong one. But at the same time making no move is just as bad or worse (or is it?). I guess I need more “knee” time.

Paul,

Glad you have been enjoying (?) the series so far. It was meant to be eye opening…so many folks have their eyes closed, their head stuck in the sand (or where the sun don’t shine). It seems as if we have a great standard of living here in the US and the economy is doing well and we live lives of luxury. Problem…it’s an illusion when looked at from a larger (longer term) perspective and in terms of brutal reality. I’m not saying we are destitute or in the depths of poverty or some third-world country. I am saying the wealth in this country, has been, and is, being transferred from the middle-class to the upper-class; and the middle-class is disappearing quickly. That will soon leave only the wealthy and the poor…just like the middle-ages ruled by monarchs and so many other dictator ruled empires before us.

I’ve lived in Texas…definitely a different world…at least it was 30 years ago. There are some terrible liberal strongholds…and some great rural down-to-earth areas. Way too many illegals and too many cartel operations; most of that is along the border. But it can be a great place to live. And for the most part…how great a place is, depends on what we make of it. Being close to grandchildren is probably the best reason to move somewhere…well done!!

I totally get it about the whole “paralyzing” and “fear” thing, I do. As you know fear is a bad thing for the most part…good thing it can be overcome with faith. As for paralyzing, there are a couple of meanings for the word; the worst is “render a person powerless or ineffective.” The others aren’t much better. Fear as a motivator is the only good aspect of that emotion.

Let me throw this out to you…patient vs paralyzed. Patient can mean persevering, constant. It can also mean being capable of calmly awaiting an outcome or result, not hasty or impulsive. I think the key is knowing the difference of where you are at the time. Considering the different aspects of the move and being calm and capable while figuring out the right actions to take is amazing…in my way of thinking. Is that, being patient, more in-line with what is going on with you?

Not moving…or at least not moving at this time…might be the right answer for now. And you are being patient as you wait for another action to take, yes? Or, patiently waiting when the right moment to move is apparent, yes?

The part of your email that made me smile and made my heart full is your “knee time” comment. Father will answer your payers. It will be in His time when you are ready to hear Him, and He is ready for you to act. Once you get that answer then move forward in faith with full confidence you are doing the right thing…whatever the eventual outcome might be…no fear.

This societal and economic crap soup has been going on for 135 years…a little more expedited for the last 60 years. We bought our place 10 years ago, started to build 7 years ago, moved in 5 years ago. And this year we did a major upgrade on the solar system, and currently upgrading the well. My point? Move forward with your life…it deserves to be lived the best it can be. This will all play out…it will play out one way or another…or completely another way we cannot foresee. I am still planting fruit trees and berry bushes for the future…whatever that may hold. You can do the same.

Have faith not fear…don’t be rendered powerless or ineffective…you and your family deserve more.
