[Dad has been really tired the last couple of days. Napped on and off most of the days. He still gets up early, walks around the gardens, checks on the chickens, ignores the rabbits, looks over the berry patches, then heads to the orchard for a once around. He isn’t eating enough, but he still drinks his Pepsi every morning. He just seems a lot more tired than usual. He wanted to chat a bit this morning but I won’t let it go on too long.]
Look, there are some important things I need you to remember David. We have the country today, the one our Founders wanted us to have, because of America’s original founding document. The document that started it all, that set the stage for generations to come, the legal foundation for everything! And I am not talking about the Constitution, that came later. We are a free America today because of the Declaration of Independence. And that laid the legal groundwork for the Declaration of Restoration.
It is important to remember what is the original law, a God-given law, “…it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…” Just as it was written in the original Declaration of Independence. It is a shame that so many people forgot about that for so long or didn’t have the courage to enforce it.
The Restorers didn’t want to declare independence, that wasn’t needed, there was nothing wrong with the foundation of the United States. What was wrong was the trash and crap that the Democrats and Republicans heaped up on top of the original foundation…junk and crap that never should have been. The Restorers just wanted to return to, to restore, the original Constitutional Republic that America was all about after our Founders defeated the tyranny, the oppression, the excessive taxation, and the draconian rule of the British Empire.
Think about that small group of online folks who began that small website way back at the beginning. Then within a few months they had developed RestoreAmericanConstitution.com (RAC) as a full-blown online community. There were thousands, then tens of thousands of people that turned into hundreds of thousands on that website talking about restoring America to the original Constitutional Republic it once was. Then one day someone just said, “Why don’t we just do it?”
It didn’t take long when they set down the #1 rule of the movement, “Follow the Founders!” They had to establish that rule; folks were going off in all directions, some with the craziest ideas. Yeah, and there were some people that were really off the wall and wanted violent revolution right away, shoot em in the face types. Those were the nut cases, the anarchists, the psychos. They got banned and blocked real quick.
At first it was just kind of a game, like some fantasy online video game to some folks. But there were some rock solid folks that surfaced and then it all started to seem possible. The rumors persist to this day, although unverified, that people like Tucker Carlson, Glenn Beck, Ron Paul and his son Rand, Charlie Krik, and even Joe Rogan were on the board but under fake user names. Yeah, I was on there as well using my website name and my pen name.
In a matter of weeks a working sub-group had written the Declaration of Restoration. It was word-for-word exactly like the Declaration of Independence for the first two paragraphs with the exception of the name “Great-Britain” became the “United States Federal Government” and using “States” vs “Colonies.” Look, it worked the first time, it was divinely inspired, it was a legal foundation for the change in government in the American colonies, and it worked…why not use it!
I dug up my original print out of it straight from the website…
“WHEN in the Course of human Events, it becomes necessary for one People to dissolve the Political Bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the Powers of the Earth, the separate and equal Station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God entitle them, a decent Respect to the Opinions of Mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the Separation.
We hold these Truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness—-That to secure these Rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the Consent of the Governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these Ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its Foundation on such Principles, and organizing its Powers in such Form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient Causes; and accordingly all Experience hath shewn, that Mankind are more disposed to suffer, while Evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the Forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long Train of Abuses and Usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a Design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their Right, it is their Duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future Security. Such has been the patient Sufferance of these States; and such is now the Necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The History of the present Federal Government of United States of America is a History of repeated Injuries and Usurpations, all having in direct Object the Establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States. To prove this, let Facts be submitted to a candid World.”
Following those two opening paragraphs were listed the 377 “Injuries and Usurpations” that outlined what had gone wrong. I think there were over a thousand to begin with. However, they wanted to narrow it down to just the ones that were; 1) clearly unconstitutional, 2) caused notable loss of life and/ or property, 3) fundamentally in opposition to the Founders intentions. But it didn’t end there.
Another working sub-group took the lead and put all of those “injuries” up as redress petitions on the White House website. And on top of that, they flooded every single Representative and Senator with signed petitions outlining the issues and demanding Congressional action within 90 days…or else. Oh boy, did that make it hit the fan! Well, at first, not so much.
The White House finally took down the petitions after about 200,000 people, sometimes more, signed each one. Then Congress started holding hearings after having received thousands of emails, letters, and messages each. Ironically, the hearings were not to fix the stated problems…but to discuss all these whack jobs and their terrorist threats. And of course there were the few nut jobs that threatened violence against them…so said the FBI. It started getting ugly.
And of course the FBI started making surprise visits to people’s homes who were involved in any aspect of this. They would show up wanting to talk about “disturbing online posts”, no warrants of course. But people were prepared, a guide had been posted on the website on how to deal with the federal thugs with badges.
“Do you have a warrant?” No, then “Leave”. Yes, then “I don’t consent to any searches and I wish to exercise my right to remain silent.” After a few days of that, the FBI started showing up at 6am in the morning, before daylight., armed to the teeth, SWAT teams, trying to do the old intimidation scheme that the FBI is famous for.
The first week 7 people were shot dead. The standard FBI statement of events was, “We knocked, announced who we were, the person had a gun, pointed it at agents, the agents defended themselves, the suspect died at the scene. We commend our agents for their professionalism and dedication to protecting life and defending the United States.”
All of it pure bullshit of course!!! How do we know that? Video, lots of video that the NSA didn’t know about and didn’t/couldn’t delete. All 7 were cold-blooded murders designed to scare people off. Typical FBI.
The original Declaration of Independence was signed by 56 men. The Declaration of Restoration was signed by over 12,000 people. Yeah, electronically signed, but all by verified and responsible US citizens from all 50 states.
Here’s is what surprised me at the time…the signers were conservatives, libertarians, liberals, radicals, Progressives, and a few AntiFa thrown in there. And, there were both Republicans and Democrats! The most surprising were the liberals from really radical liberal states like California, New York, Illinois, and New Mexico.
Turns out everyone likes their rights, liberties, and freedoms…or at least their version of it. The leftists just wanted to run their state as they saw fit. They wanted more communism, socialism, and big-government control. Whereas conservative states wanted smaller government but only the rights, liberties, and freedoms that they thought were moral. And the there were the more libertarian, more classical liberals like our Founding Fathers, wanted to basically teach correct principles and let people govern themselves within the loose bounds of a civil society.
Yeah, exactly like the Founding Father envisioned for the infant USA nearly 300 years ago…let states govern themselves and the federal government was there to protect the people/country as a whole from foreign threats. The federal government was not meant to bind citizens and states down with chains of oppression and tyranny. Quickly a clear “us vs them” mentality quickly evolved. It was “we the people” vs the “deep state and ruling elites” of the US federal government. You can imagine how that sat in Washington!
Several more things came out of all that. First, being the “Committees”, some called “Committees of Safety” others called “Committees of Patriots”. They sprang up in communities all over the country faster than you can imagine. The country was ready for a restoration, for freedom, for liberty, for getting their rights back. But most of all…they wanted rid of the federal government and its oppression and tyrannical method of governing. There were hundreds of committees the first week, thousands not long after. They had their own websites and were loosely associated with RAC folks.
Second, those involved called for the First Constitutional Convention and made that happen in South Dakota. That was a big one, I mean really big.
Then they also declared a pact of non-violence. But hang on a second. What a lot of hotheads didn’t understand at the time was its actual meaning. They all agreed on “no violence” as in not taking the offensive and starting violent confrontations with authorities. No riots, no demonstrations, no protests, nothing. It was all to be online, or in small peaceful group settings. That was 100% in compliance with the First Amendment. But that statement also endorsed the right to self-defense which is a God-given natural right…no matter who the aggressor was…badge or no-badge.
I can remember that huge debate about what to do about a Constitution for this restored USA. Some folks wanted to write a whole new one, others saw the danger in that and just wanted to keep the original. There were debates, sometimes heated about certain clauses and their meaning. Well, that got handled pretty easily. The original Constitution would be kept intact and certain Amendments would be adopted as well.
So, in addition to the original Constitution, there were the following Amendments proposed to keep; 1 – 10, 11 – 14, 20 – 22, & 25.
There would be the 28th Amendment would limit Representatives to two 2-year terms and Senators to a single 6-year term. All of which would be in total. So no skipping a term and then getting elected again. But you could be a Representative for 2 terms or a Senator for 1 term.
I already talked about the ignition point, the spark that started it all. And that was they way it all started…locally. It was amazing at how quickly government was brought inline once the people figured it out. There are a whole lot more citizens than government clowns…meaning employees and politicians. And when the people banded together with courage and commitment…well, government at all levels had to bow to the people. And if they didn’t…they bowed to a well-armed citizenry.
And that was the other big lesson…so-called ‘law enforcement’ figured out real fast that even their best SWAT teams with all their fancy weapons and fancy-dressed steroid junkies couldn’t defeat neighbors by the hundreds and thousands with just as good of weapons and even more commitment. Even their fancy military armored vehicles didn’t last long against molotov cocktails and homemade improvised explosive devices. Veterans fed-up with the crap brought LEOs down a peg or two rather easily. It was a great day when law enforcement officers ceased to exist and ‘peace officers’ came back into existence…and once again focused on solving crimes. Imagine that!
What I am getting at…we didn’t need anything new, something for our day and age, some new program. We just needed a restoration of what our Founders wanted and designed…after fighting and winning the war against an oppressive and tyrannical empire. Government had to learn that they served the people…they were the servants. The people, ‘we the people’, ruled over government, the people were the masters.
It was Thomas Jefferson who wrote…
“When governments fear the people, there is liberty. When the people fear the government, there is tyranny. The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government.”
Odd, it took 150 years for Americans to lose their balls, their courage, their true patriotism. It became fashionable to call yourself a patriot while worshiping the 21st century military while saluting the flag with huge columns of pretty US Army soldiers and as powerful US Air Force planes flew overhead. We forgot that our Founders saw all of that as the enemy of a Constitutional Republic…and saw the threat it posed to freedom and liberty. We finally restored true patriotism and a love for the founding principles of our Constitutional Republic.

Today those parades are militia members, neighbors, friends, men and women who are not part of a central all-powerful governmental machine dedicated to oppression and subjugation of its citizens. Today those militia members protect their communities and their states, against all enemies foreign and domestic…especially domestic.
Once the wars started restoring the Republic millions of people died in the fighting, of sickness, of starvation, at the hands of criminals, at the hands of LEOs, and the military…while the result was worth it…may it never have to happen again. But, may we always have the courage, the strength of character, the morals and ethics, and the resolve to do it all over again if needed. Why? Because it would be, always will be, worth it. Freedoms, liberties, and rights…those are the things worth fighting and dying for…if not for our benefit in our day…then for the next generation.
