Lessons Learned: Recent Church Bombings in My Town

Last Sunday morning I was enjoying just a lazy Sunday morning waiting for my wife to return home. I had been cleaning up the kitchen and vacuuming. I hate my wife coming back home from being out of town and her walking into a messy house.

I had been a bachelor for the previous 4 days while my wife traveled back to her childhood home to celebrate her parent’s 70th wedding anniversary with the entire family. I was looking forward to her being back, I have a great wife!

Then the cell phone rang and it is a Peace Officer buddy of mine from church. He works closely with me on security matters for 13 congregations in a 3-county area. He didn’t have good news.

He explained to me that there had been two separate bombings at two separate churches within minutes of each Bombsother. He explained damage had occurred but was unaware of any casualties. We coordinated a response, he would head to the scene to feed us information and I would start clearing our two separate church buildings in our town. Eight different congregations share the two buildings, four congregations for each building.

I quickly cleaned up, dressed in Sunday attire and headed out the door. My day ended about 10 hours later. Let me share a few things that I think are important, what I learned, or at least had reinforced to me that day.

  1. There is always a lack of, or confusing, information. Even though I had a contact at the scene of one of CommunicationsProblemthe bombings, and he is a supervisor, he still had a hard time sorting out the good and bad information. There were widely varying stories about what had happened. It swung from firecrackers in a mailbox to pipe bombs at the doors. The reports said no one was present, when in actuality there were people in both churches having services. Communications is, and always will be, the #1 problem in any emergency or disaster situation. If you don’t make some preparations on how to deal with that, then you will be behind the curve from the very beginning and probably won’t be able to recover from it.
  2. No known motivation. Early on there was no actual motivation of why it was done or even who might have done it. There still isn’t. Without having some kind of idea of who or why, it is much harder to get a true feel for what is happening and how to properly respond. We had to make assumptions as to what the motivation might be but we couldn’t even guess as to whom. Since no one was hurt, and the devices didn’t explode where people were at the moment, then we felt it was more a statement event. We were wrong from the very beginning.
  3. The police utterly failed to notify other churches or provide protection to any other potential targets. Like moths to a flame all law enforcement converged on the crime scene en masse. That left the entire city, even the whole county, with virtually no police protection at all. The police called one other church, quickly told them what had happened and asked them to call the other churches in town. We have 100+ churches in town, how do you think that worked out? Most churches were never contacted. There was absolutely no “protect & serve” that morning, all the police were at the two scenes vs. providing protection for citizens.

Had this been a diversionary tactic for anything else, the police would have been 100% screwed. The police acted unprofessionally; poorly trained, poorly prepared, poor response…poor everything. That once again reinforces that you shouldn’t count on effective law enforcement response when there is a true emergency or disaster.

Lessons LearnedHere are the specific lessons I learned last Sunday…

  1. While we, our church’s limited security group responded well to our 8-congregation area of responsibility in this specific town. But we were understaffed from the very beginning. We simply didn’t have enough people to adequately respond to two separate buildings to quickly clear them, and declare them safe or evacuate them. We were also understaffed to provide security during services throughout the rest of the day.
  2. While our leadership of the 13-congregation area was notified quickly, there was no clear direction given as to what each congregations should do. For example; should they evacuate the buildings? Should they continue with services that day? Who should each congregation contact for information and direction?
  3. While we have a significant Emergency Preparedness Plan for the congregations in the area, it doesn’t cover “bombings” or “bomb threats” etc. Almost three years ago we discussed needing a specific security plan, it was never acted on. It should have been, it would have covered this situation.
  4. I am supposed to be the person that advises the 13-congregation leader and remain by his side as a subject matter expert during emergencies and disasters. However, due to us being undermanned and not calling in other folks to assist, I was out in the field and not where I needed to be. A lot of this was driven by not having a full sense of what was happening, but having a sense of urgency to react to protect church goers. However, had the problem grown, we would not have had key people in-place as per the plan.
  5. I personally dehydrated that day. I began my response a little after 0900 that day. I didn’t drink my first water till almost noon. By then I was behind the hydration curve. I drank periodically from building drinking fountains as I could, but it was not enough. I should have carried water with me and maintained my water intake to the appropriate level. I could have stopped at a convenience store to buy a bottle of water. I got tunnel vision and was too task focused.
  6. There was no sense of panic among our responders. We accepted the situation for what is was and went about our business of responding. I would imagine if you had asked most church members that day, they weren’t even aware of what we were doing.
  7. The primary response players for our church stayed in good contact. We used texting mostly to reduce time on the phone. However, we did have phone conversations when appropriate information needed to be shared. Had the phones gone down we would have been screwed. Our handheld Ham radio cache was back at my house.
  8. As I was leaving the house I took a extra couple of minutes to load a second spare pistol magazine. I usually only carry one spare magazine thinking 19 shots should be plenty in 99%+ encounters as a conceal carry person. However, this was a special case. The extra 9-rounds in the second spare magazine made me feel a little more secure.
  9. As I was walking out the door I also stopped to ensure that my handheld tactical light was working and the batteries were fresh. The light can fit comfortably in my pants pocket. I don’t see a need for some 4-cell D-size battery flashlight. A small, easy to use, comfortable to carry, tactical light is what I prefer.
  10. And as my hand hit the doorknob I had a flash of brilliance…I would be looking over church grounds, walking through church buildings, armed…ah, what is wrong with that picture? Any cop who might see me would think and/or do what? Yeah, can you see a problem there? So I grabbed my “Security Enforcement Officer” badge. Looks like most police department shields. It just might give me that extra second or two to let a cop know that I am not the bad guy. It is a great investment at under $30 for the badge and holder.
  11. There are no criteria provided to our congregations for “must evacuate” and “may evacuate” events. There is zero guidelines for those kinds of events. That is unacceptable. How would leaders have any clue on how to proceed in this situation or one like it.

Lot’s of stuff going on in this kind of a situation, I am sure I will come up with more as time goes on. But never, ever, in my wildest imagination would I have guessed that I would live in a time and place where you had bombs going off at churches. But here we are…we are in those times.

While one of the church leaders and I were talking towards the end of the day, we were lamenting the same thing…church bombings and crazy times. His response, “We’re in the last days brother.”

So here is my partial “to-do” list out of all of this:

  1. Update the Emergency Communications Plan to include the ability to text message each congregation leader as a group.
  2. Update the Emergency Preparedness Plan with guidelines on “evacuation” decisions.
  3. Update the Emergency Preparedness Plan to include more direct violence threats such as bombings and active shooter.
  4. Follow through on creating a Security Plan.
  5. Work on how to identify more folks to act as security when needed.

Lessons Learned: My Dog’s Wounded Leg

I have two great dogs, one of them is absolutely precious! I found her at the dog pound over 7 My dogyears ago, she just turned 8. She and I have that real bond thing going on, she is truly a great companion to have around.

She is part Pharaoh Hound and part pit-bull. She has the heart of a lion, the courage of a Rhodesian Ridgeback and the tenacity of a terrier. She has never been afraid of anything in her life. She has beaten-up (not intentionally) a full-grown male Doberman, a very large German Shepard, and a couple lesser breeds. She is over that now…mostly. She will cuddle on the couch for as long as you can sit there. She hates birds, loves most male dogs, and has to show other female dogs whose boss. She torments our Golden Retriever mutt till he just can’t take it anymore, then she loves on him and makes him feel better. She is 52 pounds of solid, rock-hard muscle and a head that is a block of granite.

And she got a nasty leg wound on her leg a few days ago running in the desert with me.

This is the same dog that 5-1/2 years ago blew out her rear-leg knee. $2,800 knee reconstruction surgery later she is still going strong. But this was a soft tissue wound and not very deep. It is 3” in length, 1” wide, it tore off the layer of hair and a layer of skin.

I let her tend to it the first two days accessing how bad it was, seeing what attention it might need. She did a pretty BandAid Wound Washgood job, but licking it can only do so much. Now it was time for me to step in. So I got out the medical kit and scrubbed her wound clean with WoundWash, placed a generous TrippleAntibioticamount of triple-antibiotic on the wound itself and coated the entire area. Then more triple-antibiotic ointment on a 4”x4” gauze pad and wrapped that onto her leg with 5” gauze. I did that 3 times per day for 4 days, and decided to put the “cone” on her to make sure she wouldn’t get to it, tear the bandage off and start licking it again while we weren’t home.

It is now 4 days later and she is doing well. The wound is still noticeable and the cone is off whenever we are home. She thinks the cone is some medieval torture device, I would too if I had to wear it. The wound will need some tending to for probably another week or so to make sure she doesn’t aggravate it by licking it.

So why all this long explanation and story about my great dog?

I have gone through an entire tube of triple-antibiotic, couple rolls of gauze, and more 4×4’s than I care to admit to. Gauze 2" x 5"As a prepper, a prepper that is responsible for 13 church congregations and who runs a 4" x 4" Gauze Pads 4x4large prepping website and also who happens to have written a couple prepper novels, you would think I have a large amount of medical supplies on hand. I do.

But this little episode has made me wonder if I have enough. This was little more than an abrasion, a super bad case of road-rash and not much more. I started thinking this morning what if this was a bad wound on her leg, a serious deep muscle wound. Of course I would have headed off straight to the vet’s office and let them take care of her. But what if there was no vet? Or what if I couldn’t safely get there?

I ran the streets for a lot of years on a fire truck doing the EMS thing. I have seen and provided emergency medical aid to some pretty torn up people in those years. I saw some folks die, picked up body parts and enjoyed some success in saving lives along the way. But I had a whole “system” behind me. What if there was no “system” to count on for assistance?

So I looked hard again at my medical supplies and still felt confident that I can handle a wide range of emergency medical problems and do so for an extended length of time. Or can I?

Here are a couple lessons learned from tending to my dog’s wounded leg:

  1. I don’t have enough 4”x4” gauze pads. How many should I have? No idea.
  2. I don’t have enough wide (4”+) rolls of gauze. How many should I have? No idea.
  3. I have enough triple-antibiotic ointment, but I really could use some “spray” version of the same, or something similar. How much should I have? No idea.
  4. I didn’t use exam gloves while working on her wound, but, if it was a human’s wound I should have, and would have. I don’t have enough exam gloves. How many should I have? No idea.

Why no idea on how many of the different items? Just that, I have no idea how much is enough. What I have might be enough if there aren’t many injuries. But one good car wreck with multiple victims and my supply would be all but wiped out. So I have no true idea how much is enough. It probably falls into the category of “you can never have too much.”

I felt good about my medical skills that I used while working on her wound, done it many times before on humans and animals. But if it had been really serious I would have to draw on skills I used 10 – 15 years ago. And those skills are no longer fresh in my mind. Maybe I would have to dust off one or two of the six or so medical books I have.

I also had no way to “put her under” if it had been bad. No, not as in euthanasia. Put her under as in anesthesia. Actually, I had no real way to deaden the area locally to relieve the pain while I did any cleaning or other procedure. I depended on her patience and tolerance for discomfort I caused.

Conclusion –

When the grid goes down, or when a serious emergency or disaster strikes, times are going to be tough. If an animal or person gets injured, precious medical supplies will be used up quickly. It will be a tough decision to restrict medical supplies to humans; priority-based decision making (i.e. triage) says humans will need them the most.

I need to get my wife more first aid training. I can render pretty good care but what if the injured person was me?

In our little group of friends we have a couple of nurses and a paramedic so we are really blessed. But they have to have equipment and supplies to work with or their skills lose lots of value very quickly.

I will be adding more medical supplies to our preps with some overtime money this fire season.

My dog againAnd most of all…I love the cute white dog so much it makes my heart hurt to see her suffer. And she can make me feel like a million bucks when she says, “thank you” with her eyes for providing the medical care she needs.

FAQ – 7/10/2019

  • Over the last couple of years it sounds as if you’ve lost your edge and are more religious and less, let’s say prone to violence, when it comes to prepping. Why?

It’s kinda of hard to answer that in a way. In another way it is real easy. So here goes…

First off violence is the answer…to some situations such as defending your family from violence. Violence is not the answer…to all situations.

And yes, I am working to improve my relationship with Jesus Christ. I think it is important for me to do personally. I think a lot of future events will require a good dose of correct decisions. And for that to happen a person must be grounded in sounds ethics and morals. For me, I have not always had those two. And that it what is motivating me to get more of both, and for me that means religion. In my opinion basic Christian doctrine has a foundation in ethics and morals that are universal to any situation. I am not talking about the kind of Christianity starting in about 400AD. I am talking about New Testament stuff before the Christian church fell into apostasy.

The key/trick is to balance the religion side of things with the violence side of things…and when to use each. They both have their place…but using either incorrectly can lead to very dire mistakes.

  • You mentioned CBB in your last SitRep but I didn’t understand the point you were trying to make. Can you help me?

Let me use a couple of examples…

1) Francisco Vazquez de Coronado: yeah, the famous 16th century explorer. He was a “devout” Christian who would ride into an Indian village, read a Latin declaration to them, and kill anyone who didn’t comply.  Ah, Indians didn’t understand Latin in case you didn’t know. The declaration stated the Indians had to convert to Christianity. For the most part, those that didn’t comply were killed. Yup, lots of death in the name of Christ.

2) The Taliban: yeah, that Taliban in Afghanistan. They have their own version of their religion. If someone is found not complying…well, for the most part they are dead meat. But, they show mercy occasionally and just whip women or cut off their noses.

So, CBB’s (Christians Behaving Badly) are those so-called Christians who don’t act Christ-like when dealing with other Christians. If a CBB finds another Christian who doesn’t believe as they do…well, time for stoning. While it may be only verbal stones…it is intimidation and bullying all the same. Sometimes you will find CBB’s get downright vicious with others…making it very personal and very harsh. Not cool, and certainly not Christ-like.

Now, to make it worse you find the worst of the CBB’s doing this in a public setting, especially the Internet (i.e. social media). Many of those CBB’s feel like “warriors of Christ” or “defenders of the faith” or the “guardians of scripture” etc., etc. OK…ah, find me a verse in the New Testament where Christ asks anyone to be a warrior, etc.  OK…now look up in the New Testament what Christ says about how to treat other people. Any difference there?

Summary: A CBB isn’t treating other Christians as Christ asks us to. Hence, are CBB’s really Christians at all based on their actions?

Lessons Learned: the Greek gyro

So how many conversations have you had about this Greece thing? You know what I am talking about, Greece’s Greek default, greece defaultdefault, bank holiday, ATM restrictions, lack of cash, etc. Well, I have had a number of those discussions and I keep looking at it like a huge “lessons learned” opportunity.

Things that I saw thanks to the Greek tragedy:

  1. Bank holidays can be real and can cut off your debit card purchasing quickly, as well as restricting access to your own cash via ATMs.Greek2
  2. The Greeks never thought it would happen to them. Hence, the long lines at ATM machines withdrawing $67 a day until the ATMs ran out of money.
  3. Progressive, liberal, socialist countries with their big-spending, big-government, debt-loving habits will not work. They never do, never have.
  4. The utter arrogance that the Greeks expressed that is was everyone else’s fault but their own.
  5. That I never wanted to be in those ATM lines…ever.

So what did I learn?MoneyStack

  1. Always have a stack of cash on hand, large or small. I won’t tell you how much or where to keep it. I have some and it makes me feel more secure. Think about Greeks who didn’t have to stand at the ATMs for hours worrying about the money running out. And then if it ran out, you wouldn’t be able to buy food for your family.
  2. Always have some precious metals on hand. Can you imagine if you were a Greek shopkeeper and had Precious Metals for preppers - grid-down, emergencies and disasters - gold & silversome “X” on your shelves and a person came in asking for credit until the banks opened up. How receptive would that shopkeeper be? Now, another guy comes in with a handful of silver rounds or a couple of 1oz gold rounds? Yeah, you get my point.
  3. Always have enough food to feed my family for “X” number of days. You have to fill in the “X” part based on what you feel is important. < click here to read this for my opinion >
  4. Don’t be arrogant!! Never think you are too good compared to others, and admit when things (i.e. decisions and bad habits) don’t turn out so well. But especially admit when it is your fault. Then you an learn and grow.

There is so much more that I could write about as far as “lessons learned” but those are the biggest ones with one US united states Debt Clock 2015exception…government debt.

The problem with Greece was the fact that the Greek government was unable to pay their debt payments. And they had to go begging for the IMF or the ECB to lend them more money to make payments on loans they already owed money on.

Yeah, borrowing money to pay interest on money they already borrowed. Does that sound even remotely responsible?

Well, here is something to think about…”The USA is in the same exact position. We have to borrow money to make debt payments on money we already borrowed.”

But here is the kicker…the USA just prints more money. Yes, we don’t have to borrow it, we just print it. Actually, we USA answer to national debt is to Print more Money worthlessdon’t even print it, someone at the Federal Reserve just pushes a button and it appears in the government’s computer system that tracks the country’s money supply.

How stable and “right” does that sound? Do you think that at some point people will begin to think that isn’t such stable and responsible way of doing business? And those people are located all around the world.

And here is the wildcard…what about the $90,000,000,000,000 ($90tillion) dollars that the government owes in pensions, Social Security, Medicare, and all the other entitlements and liabilities?

Where is that money going to come from? How is the government going to produce that much money to pay out in addition to the huge national debt that exists in real terms right now? Simply create those dollars on yet another computer? Or even print it by the pallet & truck load?

What does your gut tell you will happen when that day comes?

So, what are you going to do about it today, tomorrow, or the day after?

May I suggest:

How receptive would that shopkeeper be? Now, another guy comes in with a handful of silver rounds or a couple of 1oz gold rounds? Yeah, you get my point. What if you were the guy with the gold or silver?
  3. Always have enough food to feed your family for “X” number of days. You have to fill in the “X” part based on what you feel is important.
  4. Don’t be arrogant!! Never think you are too good compared to others and admit when things (i.e. decisions and bad habits) don’t turn out so well. Admit when it is your fault, you can learn more that way.

You think Greece was bad? There are four more countries in similar circumstances, Puerto Rico being one of those. And remember, Puerto Rico is considered part of the US for all intents and purposes.

There is so much I want to tell you to do. But that isn’t my place, not my responsibility, not my right. But I can make suggestions and hope they help. But more than anything else I would like you to do the following:

  • If you are spiritual or religious please pray and ask what is best for you and your family to do right now, today, to be better prepared. Then when that inspiration comes…do it!! Do it without any hesitation, without any reservation, without any regret and with a glad heart.
  • If you are not religious, think through the situation in your mind. What does that “gut feeling” tell you to do? Then when that “gut feeling” hits you…do it!! Do it without any hesitation, without any reservation, without any regret and be grateful.
There you go. I am with you, we are in this boat together, you have a place at my table.

  • I hear almost everyone but you talking about how well the economy is doing. Why?

Because I have a different opinion of the economy than most other people.

First off, I don’t look at it with a pre-determined political agenda. Next, I look at “macro” indicators. Those are the really big picture indicators that will show what is happening to the economy overall…not just a single slice (i.e. “micro” indicators). US national debt is one macro indicator to keep an eye on.

National Debt as % of GDP

  • Year 2000 (last year of Clinton’s Presidency) % of GDP        55%
  • Year 2008 (last year of Bush’s Presidency) % of GDP           68%
  • Year 2016 (last year of Obama’s Presidency) % of GDP     104%
  • Year 2018 (second year of Trump’s Presidency) % of GDP 105%

Gross $’s of National Debt

  • Year 2000 (last year of Clinton’s Presidency)       $ 5,600,000,000,000
  • Year 2008 (last year of Bush’s Presidency)         $10,025,000,000,000
  • Year 2016 (last year of Obama’s Presidency)     $19,573,000,000,000
  • Year 2018 (second year of Trump’s Presidency) $22,776,000,000,000

As you can see our national debt is 100% out of control and will never be brought back to reality…and it will destroy America. And it doesn’t matter who is the President (2 Republicans, 2 Democrats)…they are all spending us into destruction!

Average Annual Increase in National Debt During Presidency

  • Clinton     $  157,000,000,000 average annual increase in national debt during Presidency
  • Bush        $  550,000,000,000 average annual increase in national debt during Presidency
  • Obama   $1,193,500,000,000 average annual increase in national debt during Presidency
  • Trump    $1,601,500,000,000 average annual increase in national debt during Presidency

At the current rate, if Trump is in for 8 years, he will add far, far more to the national debt than Obama at his current spending rate. You can clearly see it is getting worse with each president…and exponentially so with the current President. Based on?

Well, compare another key macro indicator,  gross US Government Tax Revenue…

  • 2000 Clinton  $ 2,030,000,000,000
  • 2008 Bush     $ 2,520,000,000,000
  • 2016 Obama $ 3,270,000,000,000
  • 2018 Trump  $ 3,330,000,000,000

Why is the $ amount of US tax revenue important? Because that shows how much money is being sucked out of the hands of US citizens and US corporations by the US federal government. That means money being forcibly taken from families and companies and placed in the hands of politicians to squander as they want to.

Now, compare the Gross $ National Debt, $ Annual Debt Increase, with the gross US Government Tax Revenue…

Note: Trump has the highest taxes in the history of the country and also the largest annual increases in the national debt. The US government, under Trump, is sucking $60,000,000,000 more tax money annually out of Americans than Obama…and adding 34% more to the national debt than Obama. Not that Trump is a bad guy…he is just another horrible fiscally responsible President in a long line of horrible Presidents.

Now you get a truly terrifying view of what is happening to our federal government spending…we are going down the sewer pipe. And yes, the chart clearly shows that Trump is the absolute worst of the Presidents when it comes to placing our country further into debt. But, the real point is this…regardless of the President, regardless of the party in the Whitehouse, regardless of what any politician says…ALL the politicians (Democrats or Republicans, Congress or Presidents) are destroying the US economy…period. That is an undeniable fact!

It is only a matter of time before the world says…”Ah, no more trust in the US dollar.” At that point the US economy crashes…a hard, hard, crash.

If you weren’t already sick…try this to make it even worse…

The current US government unfunded liabilities is estimated to be at least $105,000,000,000,000! Yeah, that is 105 trillion dollars. Five times what the National Debt is.

And if you aren’t fully aware of what an “unfunded liability” is…

An unfunded liability is a liability that does not have current or projected assets to cover a legal liability; therefore it is said to be unfunded. 

Yeah, you getting the picture now? The US Government has legal obligations in the future of $105+trillion with no money or assets set aside to pay them. How do you think that is going to work out for us?

So…GUILTY as charged…I have a very, very pessimistic picture of the US financial condition…the facts and figure show it.

And another couple of real indicators that very few folks pay attention to is the % of wealth among middle class and the % of middle income population compared to low and high income populations.

Why is that important you ask. You hear that the employment rate is at historic lows. You hear repeatedly ad nasuem that we have full employment and times are great for American workers. OK, the employment rate is a “micro” indicator. There are far more important macro indicators.

The middle class as defined by income is disappearing, upper income is growing, lower income is shrinking.

The middle class as defined by % of population is drastically shrinking, high and low income populations are growing rapidly.

Now…combine those two facts that are displayed in the charts and you get a DISAPPEARING middle class!!!  And you are also seeing a rapid and substantial increase in the rich getting richer. And a large increase in the poor getting poorer.

So let me ask you this…

“If the rich are getting richer, the middle class is getting poorer and disappearing, and the poor are getting poorer, what does that mean to you…in common sense terms?”

I sure hope you are planning to deal with what is coming! What do you think happens when the rich get richer, the middle class disappears, and poor get poorer? If you don’t know that answer to that question…research the Roman Empire. Or any other empire that has ever existed. Then go throw up. Once you rinsed that out of your mouth…start preparing for the inevitable.

4th of July – Independence Day

4th-0Independence Day (a.k.a. 4th of July) commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. July 4th is a day celebrating declaring independence from Great Britain. However, on July 2, 1776 the American Revolution leadership declared the legal separation of the Thirteen Colonies from Great Britain after the American Congress had voted to do so. And the 4th is when they  actually signed the document. .

But remember, open warfare had broken out a year earlier between the tyrannical British forces and American freedom fighters.

So if this holiday, the 4th of July – Independence Day, is all about 4th-1declaring independence and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. What is the Declaration of Independence all about?

4th-2Well, just take the first 18 words of the actual document –

“When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands…”

The Declaration of Independence was all about dissolving the tyranny that had been imposed upon them by the British ruling class. In other words, the Americans were fed-up with the tyranny they lived under and were finally doing something really serious about it. The Declaration of Independence was an explanation of what they were doing and why.

But you also have to understand by what “authority” they felt they had to take such drastic actions –

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government…”

They stated unequivocally what the problem was with the British government –

“…the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States…”

If you are reading this post you are more than likely not a first visitor to this website. And that being the case, you know I am not some blogger that wants to be all warm and fuzzy. I don’t believe in sugar-coating currents events and I damn darn sure don’t want to give false hope and impressions of what is going on or where we as a country are headed. I always want to give you the straight talk and the straight, honest answers. But remember, these are only my opinions. Seek out, research, and come to your own conclusions of what is happening in our country today (the last 120 years actually) and why. In this day an age of misinformation I want you to trust no one but yourself, and hopefully your spouse. I am confident you can figure out this situation, I just want to share some thoughts that I think are important to where we are as a country right now.

The Declaration of Independence listed approximately 26 grievances against the government of Britain.  Among those I found these to be very interesting:

  1. He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries.
  2. He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.
  3. He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures.
  4. 4th-3He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power.
  5. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation:
  6. For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us:
  7. For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States:
  8. For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent:
  9. For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:
  10. For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses.

Let me make a note of those just for conversation’s sake:

  1. He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone, for the tenure of their offices, and the amount and payment of their salaries. Judges now “make” law, are appointed by the President, serve for life, paid by the government (who sets their pay scale), and the Supreme Court is untouchable even when ruling against the Constitution. Even the most minor federal judge in the middle of nowhere can stop the President (the entire Executive Branch) from performing their Constitutional duties. Does that sound even remotely right?
  2. He has erected a multitude of New Offices, and sent hither swarms of Officers to harrass our people, 4th-4and eat out their substance. The layers of government local-to-federal now number in the 10’s of millions of employees. All serving in a system that can arbitrarily create policy and regulation that carry the force of law. And those laws can ruin people’s lives, destroy businesses, and devastate entire communities.
  3. He has kept among us, in times of peace, Standing Armies without the Consent of our legislatures. Not only do we have a huge standing Army, we have a huge standing Air Force, Navy, Marines and National Guard. We now have a situation that dwarfs what the Declaration of Independence complained about. And it cost us 100’s of billions of dollars every year. Money that we have to borrow, driving the country into bankruptcy.
  4. He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil power. Our military now 4th-6has unlimited powers, via the NDAA, even within the borders of the US. Posse Comitatis is no longer recognized by the federal government or the military. The military is free to arrest, detain, ship to another country, or kill any US citizen within the borders of the USA by the simple order of the President, and in some cases, by local military commanders.
  5. He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and unacknowledged by our laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended Legislation: Our government has now subjugated US law to UN law, agreements, and in some cases even Sharia Law. That is in direct opposition to US Constitutional law. In some legal jurisdictions now, Sharia Law (Islamic religious law) is now recognized as superior to US law. 
  6. For Quartering large bodies of armed troops among us: One only needs to look at the nearly 1.5million law enforcers stationed throughout every community, at every possible level of government, to understand this problem. There is little resemblance of yesterday’s peace officers to today’s fully militarized law enforcement officers who operate at the whim and will of federal guidance and political direction.
  7. For protecting them, by a mock Trial, from punishment for any Murders which they should commit on the Inhabitants of these States: The political class is virtually immune to arrest and prosecution for the crimes they commit. We see one politician after another commit serious crimes with absolute impunity. Such is the benefit of the political ruling class. We have a two-tier judicial system…the ruling class…and us.
  8. For imposing Taxes on us without our Consent: This goes without saying. But it is even worse than you 4th-5might think at first pass. Not only does the government, at all levels, impose taxes on its citizens at will and without authority or permission…it also eliminates the payment of income taxes by those they wish to exempt. It has gotten so bad that over half of the country’s citizens pay no income taxes while the minority of the population support the entire country’s finances…including the immense welfare system that the majority non-taxpayers benefit from.
  9. For depriving us in many cases, of the benefits of Trial by Jury:  The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), the previous Patriot Act, and the present Freedom 4th-7Act…as well as a host of non-laws (Presidential Directives) have eliminated the effect of the Sixth Amendment found in the Constitution’s Bill of Rights. The government can, at its own discretion, deprive citizens of rights, property, money, and freedoms through the imposition of “policy” enforced by police. And they do so to the tune of 10’s of millions of dollars each year with impunity. There is little to no defense against such arbitrary civil forfeiture acts of government in today’s system. The Civil Asset Forfeiture laws allow property owned by citizens to be seized without due process, without even any criminal charges being filed. Law enforcement simply takes the property from citizens. This is done to the tune of millions and millions of dollars each year.
  10. For transporting us beyond Seas to be tried for pretended offenses. The policy currently in use and in 4th-8force by the US government is called “rendition.”  The current policy of rendition is the government sponsored kidnapping and extrajudicial transfer of a person from one country to another to avoid the US legal system. And in so doing allows the torture and indefinite detention or execution of prisoners that the US federal government wishes to impose itself upon.

So, I guess some things haven’t changed.

Well, that isn’t exactly true:

  • We are taxed by government far more heavily now than prior to the American Revolution.
  • We are regulated by government far more so now than prior to the American Revolution.
  • The ruling government is far more controlling over the population than prior to the American Revolution.
  • As percentage of population, we have far more government officials, bureaucrats, and regulators than prior to the American Revolution.
  • 4th-9As a percentage of population, we have far more law enforcement officers than prior to the American Revolution.
  • We have far more laws, regulations, rules, policies, and codes than prior to the American Revolution.
  • As a percentage of population, we have far more politicians than prior to the American Revolution.
  • As a percentage of population, we have far more people in jails and prisons than prior to the American Revolution.

Pretty much according to every negative aspect of life prior to the American Revolution, we have it tenfold worse here in our lives…in our good ol’ USA. Right here, right now…in our day and age!

So what does that mean? To answer that question let’s look at who signed the Declaration of Independence:

Collectively how do we refer to these men today?

We call them, or at least use to call them, patriots and Founding Fathers. We revere them, we honor them, we appreciate their great sacrifices that they made in founding our country and providing a rich heritage of freedom, rights and liberty.

But what if all of that Declaration of Independence stuff was all occurring in today’s world?

What if a group of well-known and honorable men got together, outlined a long list of unjust tyrannical actions of today’s federal government against US citizens?

And then these pillars of society declared that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of freedom, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish that government, and to institute new government. What would happen to these individuals?

Well, let’s look at what DHS and the FBI has to say about it.

You are considered a potential domestic terrorist if you are any of the following:

•    4th-14Americans who believe their “way of life” is under attack;
•    Americans who are “fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to universal and international in orientation)”;
•    People who consider themselves “anti-global” (presumably those who are wary of the loss of American sovereignty);
•    Americans who are “suspicious of centralized federal authority”;
•    Americans who are “reverent of individual liberty”;
•    People who “believe in conspiracy theories that involve grave threat to national sovereignty and/or personal liberty;”
•    Anti-abortion advocates (a.k.a. Pro-Life).
•    Bulk purchasers of food.
•    People who pay cash.
•    People who want internet privacy.
•    People who display “liberty” or “freedom” oriented bumper stickers.
•    People who display the American flag.

4th-10So there is little doubt if the Declaration of Independence was written and signed today, all of those original Founding Fathers, all those patriots, would be swept up in massive FBI raids, using no-knock warrants with fully-militarized SWAT forces.

What does that tell you about the condition of our country today?

What does that say of our freedoms, rights and liberties?

What does it say of our massive system of government, especially at the federal level?

What does it all have to do with an “emergency preparedness” website?

Let me make it real clear for you…A major threat to America today is the police state. No, not the threat of a police state…the growing police state that we live under right now. And that very same police state that grows ever stronger each and every day.

At some point an event will occur, and the country will be thrown into confusion and chaos the likes of which you have never ever seen before in history. And when that happens the grid will come smashing down and it will come down completely. When that happens I want you and your family to be prepared. Better yet I want you to have a group of preparedness advocates organized and supportive of each other. And best of all…if you could have a whole community ready for emergencies and disasters…that would be my dream!

Folks it is coming. I assure you of that. Our country, our government can’t survive much longer…history has proven that over and over again. Please prepare yourself and your family for the emergencies and disasters that are coming.

In the mean time, because your are prepared, you will be ready for wildfires, recessions, hurricanes, earthquakes, unemployment, retirement, and most other natural and man-made disasters as well. And because you are prepared you shall not fear.

Just please understand what we are dealing with right now…and what is coming in the near future. Please prepare yourself and your family. And while you’re at it…enjoy your 4th of July, Independence Day, by remembering what this day represents, who was there originally, why they were there, and what principles they believed in.

Please prepare!

Be a modern day patriot…be a Founding Father!

Escape from Home!

Just a quick note folks…to help sooth a couple ruffled feathers.

Some of you have expressed a little “displeasure” that I am not producing enough journal entries for Escape from Home. Ah, sorry. I do have a life…I am building our new retirement house (1000 sq feet of heaven), and actually spend some time with my wife (yes, she enjoys it…go figure).

But, at the same time…I hear ya!

To make folks happy I’ve written a whole lot of journal entries (over the last 8 months) stretching out quite a bit for Escape from Home. And I just spent 2 days doing some editing and expanding some some of the entries. But, I am not going to publish them all at the same time…that would be way too nice of me. And I can’t have that now can I?

I have already scheduled 20 days worth of journal entries and they are ready to go and will appear automatically no matter what I am doing at the time. A new entry will show up about every 3 days or so at 7am MST.

So there you have it…enjoy!

SitRep – 6/16/2019 (Part #2)

Solution Summary –

Now this is the part that I’ve been really looking forward to! And before I get too far along I want to share a few thoughts first…kinda like to set the stage properly. And before I do that, if you didn’t read the original SitRep of 6/15, I am going to suggest that you read the SitRep that is generating this Part #2 post. <click here to read it>

Also…

#1 – I am just a fairly normal person. I have no special insights that come from divine sources. I have had no dreams or visions of the future, especially not concerning what I write in this post.

#2 – I am speaking of my own views and opinions and what I can do to make things a little better. In other words…these solutions are based on what I think I can/should do. Plus a thought or two for you to consider.

#3 – Please take everything I say and ponder it a lot before you consider taking the same or similar action. What is right for me may not be right for you. You have to do the right things for you.

#4 – Please provide feedback…especially if you think I am off the mark. If you see me going down the wrong path (in your opinion) then talk to me about it. We might be able to find a better solution working together…undoubtedly.

OK, that is out of the way. Now, let’s talk about some general solutions to what I outlined in the 6/16 SitRep.

First and foremost…stay away from fringes. In other words…moderation in all things. And yet another way to look at it…no extremes, no radical(isms), no abnormal behavior. Yeah, I know, that can be very subjective. But you my friends are intelligent well-grounded folks and you know what I am talking about. Think “balance”.

Example: Not ever using a bank. That is radical and extreme…and no common sense to it. There is nothing wrong with using a bank. Now, depending on it for everything and having all your liquid/cash resources in a bank is just as extreme. Find a good balance for you.

Next, use common sense. If you are reading this article on this website you are probably pretty intelligent, pretty well educated (not necessarily “schooled”), and pretty well grounded. That implies that you have a heavy dose of common sense. Use it! If something doesn’t seem to make sense…well, it’s probably nonsense. If something sounds too good to be true…it is.

Example: Someone that you know tells you they have had a dream that you should put all your money into dandelion oil futures. Does that make any sense at all? Nope! First, making an investment decision on someone’s dream is plain stupid. Investing in something as off-beat as dandelion oil is pretty far-fetched as well. But, futures in dandelion oil…come on! Really? Use your God-given common sense.

Have a firm foundation for your beliefs. I wrote an article back in 2016 “Are you well grounded?” that article touches on this topic pretty decently.  <click here>

But, the bottom line is this…know what you believe and why. The “why” can be tricky. If you base your foundation on situational ethics your foundation is weak…made of sand. But, if your foundation is built of rock…well, it’s solid.

Example: Is it okay to kill people? Most folks will say “no!”…but why would they (including you and me) say no? For me…it violates the 6th Commandment (of the 10 Commandments). Why do I put so much stock in the 10 Commandments? Because I believe in God. So my foundation is rock solid…it won’t change based on situational ethics. Now, is it ever okay to kill someone? Yes. A God-given right is the right to defend ourselves. So taking a life in self-defense is acceptable. What about war? War is another example of self-defense. What about defending our family? Yes, the scriptures and Prophets tell us we are responsible to protect our families. So you get the point.

A last example would be the Governor of a state, President of a country, or leader of a military unit simply giving an order to kill someone who was no threat, or it is otherwise illegal to do so. You then would have a moral obligation to refuse to kill that person. And if your foundation is built on a rock…you will be willing to accept the consequences of your decision.

Now…let’s get into specifics for each category of the original 6/16 SitRep.

Flood & Food –

First off, if you have food storage the flood issues wouldn’t affect you anyways. But, that being said the best way to avoid reacting inappropriately to this kind of issue is Situational Awareness (SA). Knowing that the vast majority of crops that are being affected are corn and soy beans. So going out and panic buying a year’s supply of wheat wouldn’t solve anything. And most of the soy beans affected are normally exported as well. So the panic of flood and the prospect of food shortages declines from panic to mild concern.

When you hear of catastrophes, but before you panic react, know what you are dealing with and its true effect on your world. That is good SA!  A series of articles to help you know more about Situational Awareness, and how to use it, can be found at <click here>

Financial –

The #1 way to be objective about economic and financial situations/issues is to understand that everyone that talks about it in the media has an agenda. And they, along with politicians, are seeking money and power. So when you hear about economic data the first question would be something along the lines of…”If I take this information as true, and act on it, who benefits the most in terms of money and power?”

So, when you hear that unemployment is at historic lows…what do you believe and what do you do about it?

Let’s employ my question…”If historically low unemployment numbers are true, who benefits the most in terms of money and power from those low unemployment numbers?” Answer that one honestly and objectively and you start to understand where those numbers come from and why. Once that is done then you can look at what you do, or don’t do, in regards to that information.

Now, if I am right about the economy and financial systems being in trouble do you believe it and what do you do about it? Well, for me and my family we do the following:

1 – Get out of debt. Debt is a cruel master that can cause serious trouble for you in everyday life. Generally speaking debt would not affect you very much in terms of emergencies or disasters…unless your ability to recover from either is reduced, or eliminated. Meaning…you don’t have an emergency fund to repair damages, replace items, or buy necessities. For a grid-down event…I don’t see debt being a significant problem, at least initially. If you have a lot of debt let’s say after an EMP event, how would that negatively affect you? My opinion…not much. As time goes on the lust for power and money will grow. And, if you are in debt (i.e. mortgage) and can’t pay it…you could have your house repossessed and your family is now on the street. Same could be true for anything that is held as security for a debt. And worse of all…same could be true if you can’t pay taxes. You have real-estate taxes wherein you could lose your home. You have income taxes where you could be put in jail. And one I want you to really think about…if you have a car loan, and it goes unpaid, you could lose your transportation.

2 – Have a cash emergency fund. The amount is dependent on your individual situation. And yes, I mean cash…not a bank balance. But yes, you can have funds in a bank…that is fine. But, have a cash emergency fund available.

3 – Have an IRA/401k. You don’t know, I don’t know, no one knows for sure, when the system crashes. Yes, it will crash but you aren’t smart enough to know when…I know I’m not. But, you do know that you will retire…prepare for it. A self-funded, self-directed retirement fund is imperative. If you don’t have one, and refuse to get one, you are setting yourself up for a disaster at some point in your life. We use Fidelity and for growth we use an S&P index based mutual fund. And please…don’t spout off nonsense about stocks, mutual funds, and such gibberish. They have a good history of performance over a long period of time. Can they go bad? Sure. Will they go bad? Absolutely. And we don’t have a clue as to when. Till they do…use them to your advantage! And prepare for what you know has a very high probability of happening…retirement.

4 – Precious metals. Have some, but not too much. Historically precious metals have been a good way to transfer/maintain wealth during difficult times. But, for me personally…precious metals should NOT be viewed as an investment. Precious metals are a commodity NOT a currency. Precious metals are similar to insurance (wealth insurance) they are NOT intended to make you money. Don’t have more than 10% of all your investments in precious metals…ever! Do not own any precious metals until all other seven areas of preparedness priorities are met. <click here>

5 – Pay more attention to macro-economic indicators. Individual tax rates going up or down is a micro indicator. The amount of tax revenue being sucked out of the private sector to the government is a macro indicator. Yes, more income tax flowing out of the private sector into the federal government is bad, very bad. GDP is a micro indicator (albeit a decent one). The annual federal deficit is a macro indicator. Unemployment numbers are a micro indicator. National debt is a macro indicator. I am not saying to ignore micro indicators, just put much more importance on macro indicators. It is the macro indicators that will point more accurately to the true state of the economy and the financial system.

6 – Have access to land that you can grow food on.

War –

It is inevitable…and it is already taking place. We have multiple hot wars right now. While limited in scope, they are shooting wars all the same. And one thing I completely avoided mentioning in the original SitRep is this…in a very real sense we are already at war with Russia…and have been so since 2015 in a noticeable way…digital warfare.

Digital warfare is much more subtle but can be far more effective…and much cheaper to wage. A “David” could slay a “Goliath” in digital warfare and relatively inexpensively. We know pretty conclusively that Russia interfered with, as in “influenced”, the 2016 Presidential election. No, they didn’t get Trump elected. But, we do know that they had a concerted and successful effort via Internet media to influence voters and political topics. We also know that they probably hacked into several states’ voting systems. We have a very good idea that they hacked DNC computers.

Considering the rate of technology growth what do you think they are capable of now, four years later? How about what Russia might do in the 2020 elections? Have no doubt…that kind of activity is warfare just as much as firing a missile at a ship is.

So what has our country’s reaction been? We have launched cyber-attacks and cyber-reconnaissance against Russia…and to a lesser degree China. We are engaged in digital warfare with both of our major world opponents. And if one side begins to lose in a significant way…what do you think the other side will do? If one side’s ability to wage an appropriate cyber based response…what do you think their option(s) would then be? Could digital warfare morph into a shooting war?

OK, now all that being said…what is the solution? Sadly, at the individual level there is virtual no solution for this issue since it is controlled on a national and international level. What you can do is:

1 – Vote for politicians who appear to be least likely to get us into useless wars.

2 – If a useless war begins to take shape, protest against it.

3 – Generally be a well-prepared prepper in case the war (digital or shooting) begins to seriously affect the US.

4 – Voice your opposition to useless war whenever engaging in conversation about it.

Political –

Dang! This issue just plains sucks! I hate trying to come up with suggestions on this one because all politics just sucks and I hate it all. But, I promised I would provide some potential solutions, so here goes…

1 – Base political beliefs on fundamentally correct principles. I base my political beliefs on the Constitution. I am an originalist and a literalist in regards to the Consitution. I believe in the Constitution and Bill of Rights as originally written and intended by the Founding Fathers. If it isn’t in the Constitution, if it is not authorized in the Constitution, then it is not just illegal, it is immoral. If a politician doesn’t support the Constitution as such…then I won’t support the politician. Or, at the very least I will highly criticize them as appropriate.

Examples: The Civil Asset Forfeiture laws are clearly anti-Constitutional, violating a number of the 10 Bill of Rights amendments. Any law that infringes on the right to own a gun is clearly anti-Constitutional. If a politician supports CAF laws or any gun control law…then that politician does NOT support the Constitution nor our founding principles. And that is a huge Red Flag!!

2 – Understand who politicians are. All politicians lust for power and/or money. Yes, even the well-intentioned politicians lust for power…even if it is the power to change things for the better. As we well know through our knowledge of the nature of man…give a man a little power and he always wants more. There is very little in this life that corrupts a soul faster or more completely than power.

When looking at what a politician does or proposes, ask yourself this…Who gains power and money through this proposal or action?

3 – Understand power exists only in one place at a time. When the Founding Fathers wrote the Constitution the vast majority of the power rested with the individual and then the states. Now where does the vast majority of power reside?

As the federal government has grown in power it has shifted from the individual citizen to the federal government. And it has also shifted from the states to the federal government.

Power is not created, it can only shift from one owner to another. The individual (rightful owner) is far more trustworthy with power than the federal government any day! The founders knew that and tried to write the Constitution to prevent the federal government from being as powerful as it is. While their effort was gallant, tireless, and paid for in blood…they failed. The Constitution has become corrupted and we have an all-powerful federal government that makes 1770’s England look passive.

Know when the individual and/or state is losing power to the federal government…and resist it.

4 – Never trust what a politician says. Politicians will say anything to get elected and stay in power. They will also lie to pass their legislation. Watch what a politician does…that will show his character and intentions.

5 – Don’t support the “impeach Trump” effort in any way. Not only is it a political scheme by radical democrats…it is an actual coup. It is an effort by democrats to forcibly remove a sitting President from office outside of the electoral process. Why? Because the democrats want that power. It is nothing more than that…a power struggle. It is NOT a fight of good vs. evil…it is only about the struggle for power.

6 – Pay close attention to what is happening politically. Along with that…”who” is on “what” side of the political spectrum. Your good friend who is a moderate democrat today could well be the radical violent democrat protesting on the street and participating in the coup against Trump tomorrow. And how might that person begin to view your political beliefs? And what might they decide to do about it?

OK, that’s enough for now.

Technology –

One part of technology that I kinda skimmed over in the original SitRep is social media. I didn’t want to get into that subject. But, I think I better state a couple thoughts…maybe just one. Social media is a very dangerous environment. Companies can learn virtually anything about you via your social media activities. And that means any government agency has access to that information as well. Don’t for a moment think that the federal government isn’t monitoring social media…THEY ARE!

The secret police agencies of the federal government (mostly the FBI, CIA, & NSA) monitor every form of social media, record all that activity, create files on individuals containing that activity, and can use it against anyone at any time for any reason. And that means you and I !!!  You cannot hide your social media activity…it’s impossible. You can’t mask it, you cannot trick them, you can’t avoid them tracking you.

I am not telling you to get off all social media…or even reduce your activity. I just want you to be aware of what is FBI & DHS report on rightwing extrmeism and domestic terroristshappening. Remember this…as we’ve clearly seen, the federal government has weaponized the FBI, CIA, NSA, and even the IRS against anyone they view as an “enemy” or “potential terrorist”. Who’s that? <click here> Be aware and decide for yourself how easy you want to make it for them to target you.

Now, generally speaking what is my solution for the problem of technology?

1 – Clearly understand that the purpose of AI, as stated by technology companies, is to replace humans with AI controlled machines. And many of those machines are designed to be robots…some that are eerily similar in appearance to humans, some quite lethal.

2 – Make sure you have the capability to conduct your daily life 100% free of any and all technology.

3 – Make sure your prepping can be 100% technology free.

4 – Do not trust technology, those that are developing it, or especially their so-called mission statements for AI technology.

5 – When you start to see inflammatory statements by high-profile people, especially national leaders, STOP!!!  Think about what they are saying. Does it sound rational and does it make sense? Could it be sourced from a deepfake environment?

People –

This is going to be one area where I undoubtedly will make some folks uncomfortable…others will go completely off their nut. I hope a few find some useful information.

1 – Develop a firm foundation for your belief system. I believe, for me at least, it is Christianity. And I don’t mean some Taliban form of it. And I certainly don’t mean some mushy form of it. For me it is simple…the 10 Commandments, the Golden Rule, and the Beatitudes provide a great foundation. If people would follow those simple, clear, and practical guidelines there would be virtually no problems in the world today.

2 – Do not be a CBB. I coined a new term…Christians Behaving Badly. By this I mean try to live up to #1 all the time. That being said, allow others to believe as they wish. I am not referring to Carte Blanche behavior. What I am referring to is simple…don’t attack others when they don’t agree with your opinion. And when I mean attack…I mean personally attack, demean, criticize, etc…especially publicly. Why? For crying out loud, do I need to explain that!? Ask yourself this, if you find yourself about to be publicly critical of someone you think is wrong on a spiritual subject…is what you are saying helpful to that person or not?

Those that engage in CBB activities are often deluded in to thinking they are being some great advocate for Christ. They are not! They are behaving in a very un-Christian manner.

And there are a few, fortunately very few, who would try and justify their wrong-hearted behavior by saying, “Yeah but Christ contended with so and so, or got violent with the money changers!” Yup, He did…and you are NOT Christ! You do not know the heart of the person you are attacking, you don’t know their intention. Heck…you don’t even know if they misspoke or mistyped! They might be a poor communicator. Or you may have jumped to a wrong conclusion.

Rather than lash out in a manner that would make Satan smile, use your heart and your head. Discuss in a loving manner the principle, your view, and substantiate it through scripture or other authoritative sources.

If you are a Taliban Christian (CBB) try reading Colossians 3:12, Romans 15:5, Galatians 5:22-23 and a long list of other scriptures. But, most of all think about the Golden Rule. Then ask yourself…What are the results of your behavior…for your target…and for you?

If you are a CBB…Stop!

If you encounter CBB treat them like you would any weak-minded, cowardly bully. First, don’t engage them. They are acting this way due to a mental and/or spiritual problem…and you are highly unlikely going to be able to change them. Heck, don’t even try to change them, leave that up to their family, close friends, their spiritual leadership, a professional councilor, etc. Second, support the person they are attacking. Find something about the other person that you can complement them on, agree with them on, or in some other way let them know that they are not alone. A CBB is nothing more than a misguided bully. But, their target needs to know that Christians are good people and don’t behave that way. Defend them publicly, but also reach out to them privately. I’ve seen victims of CBBs get really down due to the attack. Don’t let Satan win! Let good Christians know that other good Christians are there for them…that they are not alone!

3 – Understand democrats and act accordingly. Remember I consider democrats to be Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, and RINOs. Democrats desire to overthrow the US government, via democracy, into a socialist/Communist country…then establish a complete totalitarian regime. They want nothing less!

There are no moderate democrats. ALL members of the democratic party support, directly or in-directly, the same goals and policies. And that includes infanticide. Some democrats are more vocal than others in speaking the truth about their goals…but the support is unanimous…whether they think so or not.

4 – Conservatism is not a good thing. Our Founding Fathers were not conservatives. They were classical liberals.

For the record… “Classical liberalism” is the term used to designate the ideology advocating private property, an unhampered market economy, the rule of law, constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion and of the press, and international peace based on free trade.

Conservatism as it is known today is not classical liberalism. Libertarians are a much closer match to our Founding Fathers. Remove the anarchists that have hijacked part of libertarianism and you would have a nearly perfect match.

Fortunately, many people who claim to be conservatives are actual libertarian in their beliefs. If you add the belief in a civil society to libertarianism (civil-society libertarianism) then you have a match with many people who think they are conservatives.

Think about politicians who claim to be conservatives…do they match the definition of “classical liberalism” or do they distort it? Do they justify variances to it? Or, do they advocate for more law and order vs defending rights and liberties? Do they advocate war, police actions, military interventions, democracy building? Do they defend freedom of religion, regardless of the consequences…or do they vote in favor of reducing religious liberties/rights? Do they favor Civil Asset Forfeiture laws and other violations of due process…or do they support private property and the rule of law?

It is not hard to determine who is a friend of the Constitution and believe in our founding principles…and who are the enemies of the same. Figure out who is who…and who you choose to support politically.

5 – Get to know people for who they really are…not who they say they are. This will be incredibly important as time goes on. It will have the ability to prevent misunderstandings and help avoid being easily deceived by people.

6 – Stick with the scriptures and authorized servants of God. Don’t get sucked into paths that lead away from the gate to heaven. Do not trust in the arm of flesh. Do not get caught up in spiritual fads. Learn the difference between spiritual feelings and emotional feelings. Follow spiritual feelings, question emotional feelings.

7 – Be careful of, leery of, cautious of, people who claim dreams and visions. Many who believe in these things will quote Joel 2:28 from the Bible. And they neglect, maybe purposely ignore, the context and prior verses. Namely who these people will be, what they have to go through, and what type of people they are, and the environment in which it all occurs. And be even more doubtful and disbelieving of what they claim they saw in these visions and dreams (i.e. content).

Why? Because the Bible also tells us to expect false prophets in the last days. And what is the purpose of false prophets? To lead people astray from God…into Satan’s grasp.

So are there people who are legitimately entitled to messages from God through dreams and visions? Absolutely, 100% there are. Who are they? People who have the right to such. Namely, everyone has the right to receive guidance from God for their personal life. Parents have the right to guidance from God for their family. The leader of a congregation same thing. An entire church, same thing. There are people who are authorized servants of God who are perfectly entitled to receive messages from God via dreams and visions. My faith states as a core belief… “We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.”

The key to this point is this…is the message from God (i.e. spiritual), or a sincere/honest desire of the person (i.e. emotional), or nefarious (i.e. commercial venture or lust for power)? And the only way to determine that is a process.

First- is the message clearly supported by scripture?

Second- is the message clearly supported by current authorized servants of God?

Third- is there a “right” to receive this message, are they authorized to receive the message?

Fourth- is this message and its delivery method free from commercial gain?

Fifth- is this message free of any shift of power, or God-given right, from yourself to another?

Any “no” is a huge Red Flag!

If all five answers are “yes” then the message is probably good. But, this is only a start to figuring out if the message is from God or not. A good question to follow-up the above five with (if you’ve received five yes answers)…”Why this person? What makes them so special for God to speak through them to me? Why didn’t God speak directly to me?”

If you have others saying that so and so is special, has a special path to God, sees visions/dreams, and then they testify that they are from God…Red Flag! You may be deceived into believing the person testifying vs. testing the validity of the message itself.

Yes, I am urging much caution in this area. There has been an alarming increase in the numbers of people being led astray by false prophets in the last 10 years. Please don’t be one of these that put your trust in someone, or your belief in someone, that is a false prophet.

Now, conversely…if you have someone teaching messages from scripture or if you have an authorized servant of God talking to you about things that are corroborated in scripture…you are probably on safe ground. But, be safe…kneel in prayer to God with an honest and sincere heart, asking if what you are hearing is true. God will not fail you when it comes to revealing truth. The Comforter will bear witness. Just make sure it is the Comforter and not your emotions.

Solutions Summary –

We are in the last days. We are experiencing wars and the probability of more wars grows almost daily. There are some very bad people in our world trying to do many bad things. The US government is no longer a government of, or for, the people. Financially we are on very unstable ground. Wicked forms of government are taking root and getting stronger. People’s hearts are failing them and becoming cold and hard. Calamities and chaos is all around us.

At the same time…there are some incredible people out there doing amazing things, selfless acts of kindness, pouring out mercy, and miracles occurring. We have some of the best and sweetest souls on earth that we have ever seen. Opportunities to prepare, help others, and gather useful information has never been greater.

Many people I talk with are experiencing nothing short of miracles in their lives. They are doing God’s work and spreading His word. People are leaving old ways and embracing God’s plan by the tens of thousands each moth, if not each week. Technology is allowing more people to hear God’s messages more than at any time in the history of the world.

We have more opportunities to help others, to be kind to others, to minister to others, and to be His children than can be imagined. We need but to seize those opportunities.

I ask of you a few simple things:

1 – Learn the principles of preparedness.

2 – Become prepared and ready to help you family, neighbors, and community.

3 – Grow closer to God.

4 – Grow closer to your family.

5 – Build a strong foundation of beliefs.

Remember a couple of things:

1 – It’s never the wrong time to do the right thing.

2 – The harder right is worth more than the easier wrong.

 

The storm is coming…sooner than many think. Please be prepared for all that is to come. You won’t regret it.

SitRep – 6/16/2019

Introduction –

It has been a very long time since I did any new original articles and even longer since a SitRep has appeared on the site. But, that changes today! Why? Because a SitRep is needed, sorely needed. I started writing this SitRep on Saturday morning, finished it late Sunday…with lots of editing during the process. I didn’t want to write it too quickly after the most recent bombing in the Gulf, and I didn’t want to publish it too quickly and not get the right material in it. So here we go…

But, I want to answer a popular question first…

Why has there been little in the way of new website content? That is simple…I’m building the house my wife and I are going to retire in (January 2020). I started clearing and prepping the building site in late February. I just got back from a 5-week stint where I accomplished about 70% of the siding, roughed in the electrical, and completed the utility shed along with a lot of the infrastructure to a nearly usable point. And doing that by yourself when you are 64 years old ain’t easy! Everything takes more time…and plenty of Aleve each day.

One of the benefits to this time building the house is solitude. I have lots of time to think, ponder, and reflect since my wife is 320 miles away. Another benefit is no TV and no proverbial talking heads trying to sound important as well as knowledgeable…and almost always failing. And yet another positive aspect…I am able to read “news” on my schedule and as in-depth as I want. As the last two trips (5-weeks & 6 weeks respectively) have unfolded I have seen some very serious trends developing…and I am becoming ever increasingly concerned. Seriously concerned.

Now, one of the things that I’ve also been thinking about are “people.” But, in a slightly different way than you might be thinking. I’ve also had people ask for more solution oriented SitRep posts. I’ve even had a few folks express their…well…let’s just say disappoint that some of my SitRep posts seem fatalistic. They appear to think that I am somehow suggesting that they do nothing about the current world/national situation. That one surprised me. So, this SitRep will be my normal view/opinion of what’s happening and more details on a “solution”…or more accurately “solutions”.

And…of course I will probably step on a few toes in the process. And that should come as no surprise. If I was simply trying to make ya’ll happy I wouldn’t be honest…I would just be another target-audience pandering website.

And once again…if you are not willing to read this entire post to the end…including the “Summary/Solution” (Part #2) please don’t read any further. And yes, this is going to be a fairly long SitRep…not a simple fluff piece…be prepared to read a bunch. And sorry, I am not putting in pretty pictures for entertainment purposes.

So are you ready to rumble??????!!!!!!!

Flood & Food –

I figured I better get this one out of the way right off the bat.

I am not concerned about the current flooding in the US as it applies to food production. The US is a very large country with many areas able to produce the food that is being affected in the Mississippi flood plain. While individual farmers are facing terrible conditions, crops wiped out, cropland unusable for this growing season, etc…the nation as a whole is not suffering the same fate. As such, I don’t see a significant and worrisome condition as it pertains to available food due to flood conditions.

In a strange way the reduction in food exports to China due to the tariff wars has to a degree mitigated the reduction in food production due to abnormal flooding this year. 

Financial –

He we go again! If you were to listen to one particular group of financial “experts” you would think our country has never been in better shape financially/economically. Yeah, and it is motivated by, and originates from, a political viewpoint. But, if we are in such great shape as a country…

1 – Why do 60% of US citizens have mental anxiety and/or physical stress over their financial condition according to a recent poll? And especially when 55% approve of Trump’s handling of the economy?

2 – Why is private debt reaching an all-time high?

3 – Why are annual federal budget deficits running at record levels?  Especially considering that tax money is flowing out of the private sector (citizens and companies) to the federal government at historic levels?

4 – Why is the national debt skyrocketing the last couple of years? Well, actually for a couple of decades now? But, I am more concerned about the later year figures.

5 – Why is GDP softening and so dramatically falling below projections/expectations?

6 – Why is the Federal Reserve making it public that they are considering lowering interest rates?

7 – Why is the IMF announcing a softening in the US economy and reducing its projections of US economic growth?

8 – Why are new and existing home sales dropping? Why are pending home sales dropping? (Yes, according to national NAR statistics.)

I could go on but you get the idea. Now, if you are a political ideologue you either applaud my questions/implications or you think I am full of crap. Yes, that implies I am calling you a Trump hater or a Trump lover. And you would be dead wrong! I am simply pointing out substantial financial/economic information that objectively clarifies where we are financially/economically as a country. And my friends………it ain’t good!

The #1 concern of mine is “debt”…and that means private and public debt. Both are at record levels! And the private debt quality is getting lower. That means a combination of amount of and days that payments are delinquent, and it includes the amount of sub-prime debt. Those two figures, and trends, are in critical territory as far as I am concerned…and getting worse by the week.

And what happened the last time debt became this much of an issue combined with a weakening housing market? I am very, very concerned about the state of the US economy and our overall financial situation. I think it could tumble very easily. And when it does (notice I didn’t say “if”) it will go down hard and fast. I believe the probability of that happening has increased significantly over the last year and is growing more unstable by the week.

War –

This is one that I’ve not talked a whole lot about in the past…but now I must.

First, let’s talk reality…we’ve been at war continuously for nearly 20 years. The longest time period of US war footing in the history of the United States! And more to the point…What does the United States have to show for it? We’ve lost thousands and thousands of American military lives in that time frame. Tens of thousands more have been gravely injured and lost limbs, etc. Tens of thousands of families have been destroyed due to repeated deployments to war zones. Veteran and active duty suicides are at record highs. Conservative figures place the current suicide rate at a minimum of 20 per day….every single day we have our military folks killing themselves. That means more of our military people are dying from the aftermath of war than the war itself.

Next, reality check…What have we gained for 20 years of war? Well, we completely destroyed Iraq and hundreds of thousands of civilians died in the process. We opened that country up to one of the biggest scourges that this world has ever seen…ISIS. And we rained destruction down on Afghanistan…as if you could tell since it was a desolate country to begin with. We eliminated al-Qaeda and beat back the Taliban…just for the country to be ruled over by war lords and corrupt politicians. And then to have the Taliban reemerge as we withdraw.  Then we went after Syria. Again…our military crushed them as they were asked to do. But, what did we accomplish? Did we change their leadership? No. Did a whole lot of civilians die? Yes. Did we make the country/region ripe for ISIS? Yes. Did we eliminate ISIS? For the most part, but they still exist and are still operational in some limited area in Syria. And tell me again…what else did we accomplish in Syria? And yes, I could go on and on referencing a long list of other countries where the so-called “fight against terrorism” continues. And what could you state has been our significant accomplishments in those many conflicts?

And now the toughest question…Realistically, can you honestly say that our accomplishments over the last nearly two decades of continuous war warrant the horrendous cost to the lives of our military men and women?

Now, factor in the trillions and trillions of dollars spent to rain down all this destruction -the trillions and trillions that our federal government borrowed- and ask yourself this, “Besides the terrible cost in lives…was it all worth the $’s spent?”

My God…I hope you answered a resounding “No!” to the last two questions.

If you can’t be honest enough with those two questions through a “No!” answer, then the rest of this post will be of absolutely no value to you and I urge you to read no further.

As we look at the potential of yet another hot war (i.e. Iran) we can see ourselves being able to crush them militarily…but their terrorist activity would increase significantly because Iran will not go down quietly. And remember, they clearly won the last time we engaged them (1980), and they directly killed hundreds of our troops in Afghanistan, Iraq, and Syria (2003 – 2018) at relatively minor cost. And there is a wildcard when going after Iran in a shooting war…Russia. What will/can they do in supporting their close ally Iran? If Russia abandons Iran they lose all hope of influence, and credibility, in that region…and I don’t see Russia willing to accept that.

Now let’s talk about war with China. And please…only reality talk. I don’t want to factor in anyone’s dream or vision of some fantasy in this regards. There are other venues for that, but not here.

What has happened the last two times when we slapped tough financial sanctions on an Asia country? Simple answer…war. In 1949 sanctions went into effect against the Soviet Union and its allies. (Don’t forget, a large swath of the old Soviet Union [Russia] was in Asia.) So what happened? In 1950 the Korean War broke out, and shortly thereafter Vietnam. In 1940 the US imposed sanctions on Japan. In 1941 Japan attacked the USA and a brutal world war erupted. So what exactly do you think will happen if we continue to battle China in an economic war through sanctions?

How much more does it take before we, as a country or us individuals, get sick and tired of useless war and say, “Enough is enough!”?

Well, as long as we have war mongers like John Bolton in positions of influence we will continue to have devastating wars, and threats of war…with few, if any, accomplishments to show for it.

What are the chances of going to war? First off, we are already in numerous wars. Second, we could end up in war with Iran any day. The US government has been pushing very hard for military action against Iran. Granted, Iran is a “bad guy”…an evil regime of which there is no doubt. And, we (the US) have bad guys as well pushing for war with them, John Bolton is at the head of that list. Over the last few months there have been numerous attacks on oil infrastructure in the Middle East. They include attacks on refining facilities, shipping facilities, and shipping. Most recently Iran attacked several oil tankers with mines…indisputable proof of such activity via drone footage. War with Iran could break out any day, they’ve already fired missiles at our drones. One was shot down in Yeman. We will strike them…then it will be up to Iran if we go to war.

I am saying it plainly…We are already at war, and there are three more potential wars that could spring up overnight. And if those wars would involve Russia or China…we will not win. If any kind of major conflict would develop with either country we will lose. Maybe not militarily, but the end result would be devastating to the US and to the rest of the world.

Why would the US government seek more war? Oh come on! You know the answer to that question already. War is a primary tool of any government to distract its own citizens from internal strife. ALL politicians are capable of using that tool when they feel their power is in jeopardy…no exceptions. And if that isn’t enough…the military-industrial complex make huge profits during times of war. Money and power…the root of politicians…and evil.

Political –

Right after the inauguration of Trump I laid out the coup that was taking place against him. And I identified the major players on the ground. I was 100% correct then, and I even identified the players by name and position who were waging the coup against him. And I believe I am just a correct as I share the following with you.

But first, let me clear up a misconception. You will hear many folks speak of a “soft” or “hard” coup. I don’t believe those terms to be correct. A coup is a coup…period. And any attempt to remove a President from office outside of the electoral process is a coup…period. Now, there is a difference in the means of a coup. But, not aligned with soft or hard terms. Coups are either violent or non-violent. An impeachment attempt of a President is a non-violent coup. An assassination of President is a violent coup. So, let’s be clear…way back after Trump was elected a non-violent coup began in earnest with the Whitehouse, DOJ, CIA, FBI, DNI, NSA, as well as others. Its plan was to create such a cloud of “treason” against Trump that he would never become President. I also believe that there were plans for a violent coup in the inner circle of conspirators as well…and that would include the armed intelligent agencies; CIA, DNI, & FBI with the assistance of the NSA.

The initial non-violent coup has failed. Although the second non-violent coup (impeachment) has the democrats -meaning Democrats, Progressives, liberals, RINOs- still fighting that fight. What we have to look at is the renewed resurgence of the non-violent impeachment coup via additional activity of the House of Representatives towards that end. They have somehow taken the Mueller Report results and convoluted them into the foundation of their coup efforts.

Even if the House impeached Trump they know that a conviction in the Senate would be highly, highly unlikely.  However, the impeachment alone would be enough to destroy Trump’s chances of reelection in 2020. In the event of impeachment there would be little impact on Trump’s base, but it would rally the democrats for the election to a fever pitch. And most importantly, it would ruin Trump’s chances with the bulk of independent voters for their support. Why? Conflict…people would be tired (if not already are) of conflict and controversy and ready from some peace and quiet. And that would be the democrat’s mantra.

What shows up on my radar as dangerous are the recent calls for 100+ rallies for “Impeach Trump!”. And this could turn into a violent coup attempt. Granted, there were only a few dozen rallies that actually occurred that weekend. But, the important note of that is…there were a few dozen rallies that occurred that weekend. If the street level “Impeach Trump!” movement begins to gain a head of steam what do you think will happen? If you said violence you are exactly right. Remember, historical facts show the Democrats are the party of violence and war. And what would the reaction to that protest/rally violence be? Yup, increasing violence coming from both sides…then from law enforcement. This scenario is a threat that many folks haven’t looked seriously at as of yet.

Now, second to last in the political arena…the 2020 elections. There will be no winner in the 2020 presidential election. Certainly not the country. There will be only two outcomes if Trump runs…he wins, or he loses.

First, if Trump wins…the democrats will go absolutely crazy, out of their mind, insane. And the more extreme of those radicals will go violent. Another issue will be, not maybe, a violent coup. There are still many, many deep state (shadow state) players in the government. The DOJ, DNI, FBI, NSA, and CIA are full of them. And they have the training, capability, and motivation to carry out a violent coup against Trump…they just need a spark.

Second, if Trump loses…there are some very radical Trump supporters fully capable of violence. Perhaps not nearly as many, nor as insane as democrats, but they are there. What do you think they will be motivated to do? And how newly empowered do you think the democrats will be? They are already talking about prosecuting Trump once he is out of office, do you think they would follow through with it? If they did, what do you think the radical right’s reaction would be?

If Trump doesn’t run…there is only one reason he would not run…he knows he would lose. And that knowledge might come from polling, from impeachment, or from blackmail. If Trump doesn’t run, democrats win by default. Why? Because if Trump doesn’t run his 4-years as President will be seen by Independents as a failure. And that vision will be all the motivation they will need to go for a democrat.

And now the unpredictable…what if the democrats win the Senate? Look out! Couple that with them winning the Presidency and the country is 100% screwed…at the speed of light. And what do you think some of the crazies on the right might do when they see that happening?

Once more…there is absolutely no winner for the 2020 elections. I think the campaign will be extremely turbulent at best, extremely violent at worst. Be prepared!

Note: I think the 2020 election will be one of accountability. Yes, which political party will be held the most accountable for their actions. But, I also firmly believe that we, as individuals, should look at being held accountable for who we vote for…regardless of the office in question. I would like to lay this out there for your consideration…vote for the person who most closely mirrors your personal and political beliefs. I mean in terms of ethics, morals, and the Constitution…vote for that person regardless of party affiliation. Basically…vote your conscience.

Final point in this political category…the Electoral College disbandment. Before I get started I want to make sure that you understand a very, very important point…the United States of America is NOT a democracy! The USA is a Constitutional Republic. There is a massively huge difference. If you don’t know that the USA is a Constitutional Republic, or you don’t understand the difference…PLEASE research it out now.

One key aspect of preventing the destruction of the USA is the fact it is not a democracy and was never intended to be such. The Constitution was specifically written to prevent that. And one of the key elements to prevent the USA from degenerating into just another sewage based country is the Electoral College. It was designed with the intention to prevent mobocracy (a synonym for democracy). It was also designed to prevent a single party being able to so deceive the public into bring back a monarchy or some other undesirable form of government.

And so what are the democrats up to…continuing to destroy the USA…which they have been working at for over 100 years. This time they are trying to do it through the elimination of the Electoral College. There are 15 states now, controlling 195 electoral votes, with laws that require their state to cast their Electoral College votes for the popular vote winner. That is in 100% direct opposition to the Constitution. And the democrats are 100% behind it!

So, why are democrats so intent on this move? Simple, they want to change America into a socialist country to be able to implement totalitarianism. And they have a plan to do that through the destruction of the Constitutional Republic via instituting democracy.

Technology –

This particular category has risen in my opinion as being one of the biggest threats to freedom the world has ever seen. Actually, one of the biggest threats to humanity that the world has ever seen. Yes, there are many good things about technology and its uses…there is no denying that. But, it is being used for evil (and will be more so in the very near future) far more than it is being used for good. How?

There is a two-pronged attack via technology in the war against the human race taking place right now that are very significant in nature. And I mean it in every sense of the term “war” in a very real sense.

First, there is the refinement of Artificial Intelligence (AI). And within this first point is:

1 – AI being used more and more to replace humans. No, not supplement humans…replace them.

Emerging and increasing popular use of armed machines, controlled by AI, used to kill people. We see the technology used widely in the war on terrorism in the form of armed “drones” which are now capable of making independent “kill” decisions. We are also seeing AI used in law enforcement work. We saw that back in 2016 the Dallas PD used a robot to kill a suspected gunman. The technology has refined exponentially since then.  Then there is the law enforcement agencies use of computer software, AI based, to predict criminal activity. That has been going on for at least a couple of decades on a community level but has recently made a quantum leap on the individual citizen level as AI has evolved to truly scary point.

2 – And a very weird category of AI is in the use of sex robots. While mostly ignored, usually scoffed at, it will have more impact on civilization/humanity than all military and law enforcement use of AI combined. It is already shown through studies that humans are increasingly more favorable to robots as sex partners than humans. Think of those implications. Enough said.

Second, the dramatic creation of refined “deepfake” media. Deepfake media is media produced that is not real (i.e. fake) but appears to be 100% real and true. The form of deepfake that I am most concerned with is visual media. Do you remember watching comedy based TV shows where they would take someone’s face and superimpose moving lips to say jokes, sing a song, etc.? That was kindergarten stuff!

The technology now exists to make videos using someone’s entire face/body and they appear to say whatever the creator wishes. It is almost impossible to notice any superficial movement to the lips/body or in voice manipulation. And since the voice is actually the person’s real voice whose words are being manipulated it sounds like them in every sense of the word. Now, all that being said, the software (powered by AI) is currently being refined to make it impossible for the average person (i.e. without the aid of sophisticated technology) to tell the difference between a person giving an actual speech or one that is completely fabricated through the use of deepfake technology.

The truly frightening aspect of this will come to play in politics. Politicians, including national leaders, will appear to give a speech or comment…and the question will be…is it true or not? Unfortunately, most people will be fooled into thinking that deepfake media will be true media. And, I believe it will appear in the 2020 elections to some degree. And both foreign governments and US based political operatives will use it against the public.

Now, the horrifying aspect of this technology will come to light as governments begin to use it through its national level intelligence and law enforcement agencies. Think of the prospect of US agencies having the technology to present media to the public that is completely fabricated and indistinguishable from the truth. How far do you think the US government would go using this kind of technology against its citizens?  Now, if you don’t remember what I laid out in the “political” category go read it again. Then ask yourself…How far would the US government go with deepfake capabilities…based on what they have already done that we know to be historical infamous fact?

Why is it so scary? Shortly, very shortly, you will not be able to believe what you see or what you hear. So then, how are you going to discern truth from lies? Reality from fantasy?

People –

This is the most disheartening category that I will write about in this SitRep. Why? Because it is so disappointing to see people changing so much lately.

Before I get started I want to publically thank the Catholic Church. While it does have serious issues and problems right now that are very public, they are leading the public fight against abortion/infanticide. For that valiant fight defending the unborn children…Thank you!

First group I am worried about…democrats. Remember, I include Progressives, Liberals, Democrats, and RINOs in this collective term. Why? Because it is applicable and an easier to term to use when typing.

Democrats have become the party/group of evil about 100 years ago. And yes, I mean evil in the true sense of the word. They are the backers of infanticide. They are trying to eliminate the Electoral College and hence destroy our very Constitutional Republic itself. And let us not forget…they want to install Communism in the US…and violently if needed. Penny Kuzmich, Colorado democrat politician, made that clear in June 2019.

The Democrats have corrupted the education system in the USA. Remember John Dewey is regarded as the father of public schools? Yeah, did you know that John Dewey was a rabid socialist/Marxist? Did you know the ideas he brought to America to establish government education here were based on European fascist government’s original development of the so-called public education system? Yeah, I hope you did…but many don’t. To this day teacher unions are some of the most socialist/communist based organizations in the country. And it is they who are educating the vast majority of our children…and have done so for well over 100 years.

Results: by a large majority Millennials (Democrats or Republicans) view socialism more favorably than capitalism. And in terms of all age groups of Democrats…they are evenly split 50-50 as seeing socialism as a more favorable form of economic system than capitalism. That means we are losing our country to the forces of evil…and thanks in great part to our government school system.

And most disturbing and disgusting of all people and their behavior…democrats lauding and bragging about infanticide. It is utterly disgusting that democrats so wholly and enthusiastically support this worst of human crimes. More and more so-called Christians are embracing abortion. It simply can’t be! You cannot be both a Christian and pro-abortion…period…end of story. The sixth of the Ten Commandments forbids the shedding of innocent blood. There is nothing more innocent that an unborn baby in a mother’s womb. End of story.

And now another group of people that I am increasingly aware of…some Christians. And within that group are two  concerns…first, shrinking number of Christians. I pointed that out some months ago what is happening to the numbers…they are shrinking and an alarming rate.

The other trend I am seeing is Christians behaving badly. Not in a general term…for we all sin and fall short. What I am referring to is Christian-on-Christian behavior. I am becoming more aware of some Christians treating other Christians in a way that is wholly inappropriate, ever increasing, and something to be worried about as a prepper. Not that long ago I saw a debate between two people, both professing to be Christians. One person in the discussion pointed out evils committed by a government agency using historical facts to support their claim. Another person disagreed with the first person but used only opinion, not a single fact. The first person came back and stated again that his opinion/view was based on actual documented historical events. The second person (defender of government agency) came back with a very personal attack and threatened to turn the person into the government agency in question. Think about that for a minute…let it sink in.

Why do I think that is a bad thing? Ravening wolf in sheep’s clothing (Mathew 7). These are those individuals that after an emergency, disaster, or grid-down event occurs, will be the first in line to turn in neighbors and fellow Christians to the bad guys to win some disagreement. In a hard grid-down they will see themselves as doing a great community service to let government authorities know who has food and water storage, guns, ammunition, or who have expressed anti-government sentiments in the past. They will be the “Judas” of their time against fellow Christians. Sad, but true.

Another type of person I am starting to see more of is the self-righteous, deluded protector of truth. This type of person takes the position of being perfectly right on every subject/point of Christianity and demeaning all others who don’t agree with them on every point. Normally that kind of person would only be viewed as obnoxious, irritating, or pitied. However, when viewed in a larger picture…they can be dangerous. What, if after grid-down, this person decides that you aren’t sufficiently Christian enough…and they are in some position of power? What if you are living in a Christian community and somehow he becomes the developer or enforcer of rules/laws of the group? When I think of people who take the position of self-righteous, deluded protectors of religious truth and attack others for not living up to their standard…well, I think of the Taliban. That is exactly the kind of behavior those monsters (the Taliban) displayed…to the fatal detriment of others…mostly women and the weaker.

Unfortunately, some of these folks are well-intentioned, well-meaning, but harm fellow Christians none the less. Then there are others who view, and excuse, the inappropriate behavior as simply being strict, obsessive, a little over the top, gruff, etc. But don’t kid yourself! These “protector” folks are suffering from mental and/or spiritual maladies. And in a pre or post prepping environment they could easily end up being very dangerous to you and your family.

Now, don’t get me wrong…generally speaking there are great people in this world alongside the dirt bags! At our property we have one neighbor that is basically a jerk for a number of reasons. Then there is another neighbor, an Army combat vet who is a gem. We work on our common fence together, he has helped me with projects, and I have helped him to do the same. We’ve shared family time, meal time, laughs around camp fires, and a couple vet-to-vet moments. Who do you think is the person you more likely can count on when the world falls apart? Who would likely be a problem?

What my point is…figure out who your friends, neighbors, and associates really are. Can you trust them, are they a danger, are they an asset, etc.? It is better to have an idea ahead of time rather than when your family’s lives are on the line.

There is another group of folks, Christians also, that I am also worried about. These folks end up following, like sheep, other people and trusting in the arm of flesh. They allegedly receive confirmation by the spirit that they are doing the right thing and the person they follow is inspired. But here is the rub…other folks put in the same position with the same person receive confirmation that it is a bad situation and that they should not get involved with that person. So what is the problem? Trusting in the arm of flesh and/or not being able to discern spiritual vs. emotional feelings. There are too many false prophets out there today and we know there are more to come.

The number one red flag I see in this regard is a person claiming some special knowledge, path, information, etc. that is contradicted by, or not supported by, scripture. The number two red flag shows itself when they attempt to make money off their specialness.

In my view…with these people you are dealing with the two basic problems that the world has in general…power and money. So I ask myself, “Would an Apostle of Jesus Christ, such as Mathew, have attempted to sell his writings or freely give them to the world?” or, “Would the Apostle John have written a book concerning the last days (i.e. The Book of Revelations) and sell it through Amazon for $24.95?” I think you know the answer. So would somebody who claims to have special spiritual information such as dreams of heaven or a vision of the last days charge you money to learn of such? Would that indicate a true Christian spirit or one lusting for money and/or fame, perhaps seeking power?

Note: If their work is available for free in some form for people to read (i.e. posted on the Internet) but is also optionally published in a book for people to reference…well, I see that as far, far more acceptable. Why? Because they are making it available for people to learn from without using it to make money off of special spiritual matters. In other words their alleged spiritual event(s) is not solely a commercial venture.

FYI…I am an author. My first 2 books were available free online, but in a limited environment. They were subsequently published at the request of quite a few people. My third book was exclusively published on-line, on this website, available completely free. My fourth book will be also available on this website 100% free! When the fourth book is finished being published online I will then publish books #1 and #2 online, free as well. There is valuable information in those book (IMHO) and I want it to be freely available and not restricted based solely on a person’s ability to pay.

Summary/Solution –

For years now I’ve shared with you my opinion on when this country falls apart. And, as so goes the United States…so goes the world. My opinion has been consistent, I believe two basic paths wherein the country falls apart. First, the continued slow descent into totalitarianism that started in earnest back in the Woodrow Wilson administration and continues, albeit accelerating, today. Secondly, would be a single event -mostly unexpected- that will plunge us into a national disaster overnight. I still hold that two-path belief today…more than ever.

During the years I’ve been monitoring those two distinct, but same destination, paths I’ve seen the probabilities of each swing. What I mean by that is this…sometimes we are more likely to experience a single event vs. a continual decline. At other times, the slow decline is far more probable with no single event on the near horizon to plunge us into oblivion. Recently, on any given day, those rather stable “probability” views of mine have swung widely. Why? The events of each day, and the manipulation of those events, are growing increasingly dangerous. And I can’t even tell which is more dangerous…the event itself, or the manipulation of a specific event. What I do know…it is getting worse…exponentially worse.

With the renewed push by radical, extremist Democrats (which means all of them) to continue their overthrow of our US President…it could explode overnight based on their ever increasing call to action (violent and otherwise). As we look at the potential of yet another hot war (i.e. Iran), two cold wars (Russia and China), and two economic wars (China and Mexico), we see that, again, an overnight event could explode right in our faces. Our economic situation is more tenuous than I’ve ever seen it. We’ve never been more in debt, we have huge annual federal budget deficits, and all the while draining more money out of the private sector via federal income taxes. Our GDP is quickly softening to dangerous warning levels. And most of all…our country’s morals make Sodom and Gomorrah look like a Girl Scout camp. Simply put…we are ripe for destruction.

So there is the summary part…not so different than my other SitReps over the last couple of years. But, I want to make this perfectly clear…I believe the chance of an “overnight event” occurring to the degree that it could bring down our Constitutional Republic is greater than it has ever been in my lifetime…and that covers 64 years.

So what is the “solution”????? Ah yes…there is the key. And that will come in Part 2!
